Always double check your HR's calculations! My HR told me I had 70 hours less PTO than I thought. When I asked HR said they did the most recent calculation and it was accurate. I asked another HR person and she found the mistake. I'm sure it would have been caught eventually but I was really freaking out there that I had almost 10 days less of maternity leave (since we don't get mat leave, we just take PTO).
Also, HR didn't inform me that we can take 4 weeks of PDL prior to birth (in California). I thought that was interesting they failed to mention that. A friend's firm also failed to mention this too. So make sure to double check your state's leave laws!
