hover, but i've seen plenty of things tell me there's no reason not to sit & that there's far less bacteria on the seat than the door handle, it's just a habit now.

I hover.
I have seen way too much pee splatter, pubes, and other nasty remnants left on public toilet seats for me to ever feel comfortable popping a squat there. -
I never bother with hovering. I'm just too lazy, I guess.

Depends on the state of the bathroom -- I generally sit if it looks like they're regularly cleaned and don't have obvious nasties lurking, but hover if it's one of those "ew, yuck, I don't want to be in here but can't escape natures call" moments.

Sit! I read an article one time about a university doing a study of public restrooms cleanliness vs other things in daily life... a toilet seat is the last thing we come in contact with daily that you need to worry about!! It also said the first stall was almost always the cleanest!

@DillonLion: agree! Hovering tends to lead to pee on the seats. I we all sat that wouldn't be an issue! Haha.
I sit. If it's gross I pick a new stall. If they are all gross I hold it!

I sit if it's clean. If it's not, I use a toilet cover. If they don't have them and it's a dirty bathroom, I'll hover.

Hover, even for #2 sometimes. I don't know why, i just can't bring myself to sit on a public toilet. If I *have* to sit, I put toilet paper down on the seat.

Depends on the facilities. Some places I just cannot get far enough away from the seat. But well kept places I just sit.

I'm too short to comfortably hover so I typically sit. Unless the situation absolutely warrants otherwise...

Usually I sit, but with multiple seat covers. The absolute exception to this - in college, and since then - are bars.

I avoid. Like seriously, I try to make sure I can go at home. hehe.

I always sit......being only 5'2" there is no way that I would be able to hover.

I wipe it off with tp, then sit. The tp prob doesn't do much, but makes me feel better somehow?

@PurplePeony: there's a local fast food chain here called Pollo Tropical that I eat at because the food is fresh and the bathrooms are impeccable. Well one day I go there and one of the stalls had a shit storm. Seriously there's what poo on the seat and on the walls. I couldn't believe it. I told the manager because it was embarassing. Yeah, a bathroom may look nice when you show up, but for some reason people don't put everything in the toilet when it's a public toilet sometimes.

Sit, and I don't try to cover up my #2 splashes... I'm proud of my poop!
