For those of you who did purees with your LOs... when did you stop purees and only do table foods? And when did you stop spoon feeding, both purees and table foods?

We started with purees one week shy of 6 months. Started BLW around 7 months, I think? Even now at 15.5 months I still occasionally spoon feed her soft stuff like oatmeal and soup. She can use a spoon but it's still so messy sometimes it's easier for me to do it.

We stopped right after she turned 9 months. That's when we introduced finger foods, and once she had finger foods she wanted nothing to do with purees anymore.

Bump bump! I'm wondering if anyone else still primarily does purées with their older baby?
@googly-eyes: we are at 12 months and if we weren't, she wouldn't eat very much...

LO is just shy of 8 months and we started finger foods yesterday. She will still get purees if she doesn't eat much herself, and also at daycare.

We stopped around 9 months. She still ate fruit/veggie pouches but ate table foods too.

We stopped when LO started grabbing the food off the spoon. Then she would start refusing the spoon so we knew it was time. I think it was around 8 months.

LO is seven months and won't take a spoon anymore. We started BLW and she's doing really well so far.

Started purees at 4 months. At 7ish months started table foods, though he still got some puree (at daycare) until 10 months. By 9 months he was pretty much doing everything on his own (but at 15.5 months still can't really spoon feed himself without a major mess, so I still spoonfeed him stuff like yogurt and soup).

we started purees at 6.5 months, and starting giving a mixture of finger foods and purees from 9 months. then, bang on 11 months he would not have anything to do with a spoon again, unless it was yoghurt on there!

She was doing lots of table food around 8 months. I would give her a protein, veggie and fruit and sometimes some well boiled pasta and let her eat that first and then supplemented the meal with a purée...sometimes she only ate a little and sometimes she ate a ton...eventually she spent more time eating the finger foods that she didn't take much purée. Around 11 months she was mostly eating all finger food and some purée and I just stopped offering purées around 12 months and she was fine just eating finger foods.
ETA: we introduced her own fork/plate around 14-15 months but she didn't really start using the fork until 18 months and even at 21 months she prefers to just pick up pieces of her food and will use the fork after she's eaten a bit off her plate first...she's definitely getting better at using the fork everyday

We did some purees early on, but mostly focused on yogurts, applesauces, thin oatmeal, etc. We switched away from them as her ability to chew increased. I can't really remember when that was, but kind of later. It just felt very natural.

LO essentially weaned himself from purees by pushing away the spoon right after he turned 10 months old. Now at almost 12 months, he will ONLY eat yogurt from a spoon and is beginning to self-feed with a spoon.

At 10 1/2 months we are pretty much all on finger foods. I still have some baby food I'm trying to use up so I might do one every once in awhile if she seems hungry, and we still do pouches when we are out and about. She hates when I feed her the spoon, she wants to do it herself (and it's always a mess )

DS is 9 months old and is still between chunky purees and BLW. He doesn't care which way he gets it, as long as he gets FOOD!

My LO is 14 months old and still eats purees for fruits and some veggies. I've tried cutting little pieces of blueberry, strawberry, etc on his tray and he refuses to eat them, but loves purees. He is learning how to self-feed with a spoon, though.

@sunny: We stopped at 7 months, and transitioned to full on BLW.

@littlecasita1122: My LO is almost 1 and I am faced with the same thing . . .she eats purees and puffs with reckless abandon, but just pushes everything else around on her tray. I really don't know what to do at this point.
