We have a Fisher Price Booster Seat / High Chair, the kind that just straps onto a regular chair. That thing was DISGUSTING and I could never get the straps clean especially.
In a last ditch effort to get it clean, I just put the entire chair in the dishwasher and it came out looking BRAND new! It's amazing, the straps are sparkling for the first time since we bought it 
Just wanted to share this in case anyone else has a super gross seat!

@HappyBaker: OK - that's brilliant. I usually plop it in the sink when it gets gross. But, like you, the straps are still gross. I'm doing that this weekend!

Man....the straps on my high chair are disgusting......but I don't think I'm able to fit my whole highchair in the dishwasher....I wish!!! LOL

@HappyBaker: thank you for this! I have removed the straps to wash them but the seat is still disgusting. I will be trying the dishwasher this weekend.

Wow! It didn't do anything to the plastic? I'm always a little afraid of putting things in the dishwasher but the straps on ours are really gross too.

Ha okay everyone please don't blame me if something bad happens to your chair in your dishwasher! I'll feel really bad if everyone else melts them or something!! But I figured you can put the tray part in there for sure and the rest of it is the same plastic, so why not?
@edelweiss: I totally agree, the chair underneath it is even worse! So many crumbs and sticky things!

@daniellemybelle: I did have to remove the top seat back part, it folds down and then snaps out.

@HappyBaker: I did this today and the booster seat hasn't been this clean since the day we've bought it! And I've scrubbed it in the tub before! Thanks for the idea! I figured how to fold the back down but not how to snap it off. Lol

@pregnantbee: it won't fit in the top rack of mine and had to go in the bottom. I made sure torn tend the legs too. And the back comes off.

@pregnantbee: yup bottom rack and just make sure the straps aren't dangling underneath. I just did the setting I use for dishes which is like auto clean with a hot rinses.

@HappyBaker: want to say thanks again for posting this. Yesterday DS dumped his blueberry/spinach smoothie in his lap and it was a MESS! I popped off the seat and put it through the dishwasher on a short wash and it was nearly perfect! If I hadn't read this I would have been hand washing and running the straps through the laundry. This was so much easier. Thank you!

Holy moly, definitely doing this tomm! Also, for the disgusting chair problem, we've avoided a lot of it by putting contact paper on our chairs. I just let the kids rip off their gross papers and replace as needed.

The dishwasher is my new favourite thing!
I just put my ENTIRE Phil & teds lobster chair in the dishwasher and it looks brand new! I also took the straps off our booster chair and put those in (wasn't sure about putting the whole chair in).
I always put my son's skip hop zoo lunch kit in the dishwasher and it looks brand new again too!!!

@pregnantbee: Yes that's the same one I have! You should be able to push the seat forward so its folded over 90 degrees, and then pull it to one side so it snaps out. It takes a bit of force to pull it out.

@HappyBaker: Hmmm. I'm scared to break it....and/or not be able to get it back together after. Did you put the seat in upside down so the bottom of the seat faces up? And how did you get the straps not to fall down?

@pregnantbee: Yup that's how I put it in, I just twisted the straps around the plate rack parts so they wouldn't dangle into the bottom. You could see if you can easily remove the top rack maybe? Then it'd definitely fit just sitting up, but I'm not sure if that just slides out or is a huge pain, good luck!

@MrsBrewer: See if you can remove the straps. I've been able to remove the straps on ours with a little effort and the help of a butter knife and put them in the washing machine.

@BadgerMom: Its funny you say that, because my husband just did that the other day!! We got the straps off and threw them in the washing machine!! Now they're just like brand new! I don't know why i didn't think of that before!

@HappyBaker: we got ours used 2 years ago and the straps were already stained. Lately it's been extra gross so I tried this out. Not only is the chair super clean, but the straps are spotless!
