My job is laying off a few people this week. They told me i am one of them but they also set me up for an impromptu interview for a similar position with another sister company. I was grateful for that but my manager hinted that this job is hourly waged and may work out to be less pay. If i do get the job offer, am i obligated to take it if it really is less pay. Does this affect my ability to get unemployment while looking for something Better
I got laid off years ago and had such a horrible severance package that I was getting almost the maximum check each week. You are allowed to make up to 20% of your check each week in part time work pay, so with that plus my unemployment check I was actually doing ok for a couple of years!
