My husband and I are traveling to Niagara Falls and Toronto this week for a last little trip before the baby gets here. Any must see attractions or awesome restaurants we should check out? We love trying new places and exploring new cities so any recommendations would be awesome!

I love niagara by the lake! It's not as nice this time of year (However next week is looking nice) but it's gorgeous there! Lots of cute little towns with little shops and restaurants. A lot of people don't seem to visit there when travelling to Niagara for the first time!

Where will you be staying in Toronto and what kind of food/type of cuisine do you like to eat? That would narrow down the recommendations I would give

@NerdBee: we are staying downtown, right near St. Paul's Cathedral. We like pretty much anything, but try to stick to "real food" or paleo dishes as much as we can. We both like Indian, Cuban, Thai, Sushi...you name it!

@tlcbaby: There's a sort-of touristy but still nice restaurant called Panorama that you can go to and just sit at the bar or out on the Patio. There's a patio or bar menu that you can order snacks/tapas from that isn't too pricey and the view of downtown Toronto is beautiful.
If you wanted to venture all the way out to Markham, I could recommend the best Sri Lankan foods you'll ever eat in your life!

@NerdBee: @tlcbaby: I second Guu. It's really yummy. But they don't take resos so I would grab a meal a little earlier than usual to avoid waiting in line, which I've had to do before :S

guu is sooo good.
You're somewhat near this awesome restaurant called Origin on King and Church. A bit pricey but so delicious. Also along Queen East is a great brunch spot called Bonjour Brioche.
Also check our St. Lawrence Market!! If you go there around lunchtime, try out Buster's Sea Cove.
Kensington Market near Chinatown is a more"hippy" area, with tons of ethnic food spots. What's your scene? I can seriously go on and on about places to checkout. I heart Toronto!!

You have to go to Panorama for dessert - just for the views.
In terms of attractions - I personally like the ROM/AGO for large attractions, I haven't been to a lot of the smaller places so I can't speak to those.

Oooh there is an awesome restaurant in Niagara Falls called Sydicate. It is a brewery/restaurant. It is off the beaten path, but not far from all the hustle and bustle. However, the prices are good because it's a ways from downtown. One of the best meals (and most delicious beers) we have ever had!

The Park Hyatt Hotel is great to go for a drink and views from the patio (like Panorama but we prefer the Park Hyatt). Yorkville is a great little area to potter around (and go celebrity spotting) and another vote for Niagara on the Lake too, it's lovely. Have fun!

@babycanuck: yeah I checked the weather this morning and it looks cool, but sunny. I think it'll be showing when we are in Niagara tomorrow, though. Packing the snow boots!

This might be a random suggestion, but I thought it was cool when I first moved here....the PATH underground pedestrian tunnels - you don't even have to go outside!

And the distillery district might be interesting walking, history, shopping, whiskey...

@oliviaoblivia: i always hated the path because i got lost all the time. It was only after working downtown that i sort of got the hang of it, but i was always late meeting friends for lunch because i found myself going in circles! It was easier for me to just go outside. Haha

@travelgirl1: Yorkville! I couldn't remember that neighborhood, but it's Yorkville. I went to a really nice cigar bar there where they also serve espressos and sat outside on their patio, helping my friend smoke a nice, cuban cigar. It was quite an experience for this non-smoking, american (can't get cubans in the U.S.!). Such a cute (but upscale) neighborhood.
I also like the distillery district and all the all-you-can-eat sushi places that are still reasonably priced. Here, the only all-you-can eat sushi places are like...$50 a person. I also liked Kensington market on Sundays. And, of course, a coupla stops at Timmy's for the iced cap!
We're heading to TO next weekend for easter to see DH's family. It's their first time seeing my pregnant, so we probably won't get to go out and about, but reading this thread makes me wish I could!

Just wanted to pop back in and thank you ladies for the suggestions!
We went to Syndicate in Niagara Falls and it was awesome! We asked them for recommendations for another good restaurant in Niagara for the next night and they couldn't come up with one
so we decided to head on to Toronto after checking out the falls the next morning.In Toronto, we made it to AGO and ROM, and wandered around the Distillery District, Yorkville and Kensington. We checked out St Lawrence Market, too. It was only two blocks from our hotel.
We ate at Torito (probably our favorite meal) and Guu. We were a bit intimidated when we first walked in, but the food was so good that it made up for it.
It was a really fun atmosphere. We checked out a few little pubs and cafes, too. We both loved it there.Thanks again for the tips!!!
