So, I've been on metformin ER for about two years. But I've always sort of slacked on taking it and have never regularly taking the full dose (2,000).

I was taking 1,000 for a while and was fine with that. But since my loss, I've worked my way through taking 1,500 regularly, and now up to 2,000.

But OMG!. I've been at that dose for 5 or 6 days, and I think my stomach just realized it. I haven't felt this gross in a long time (thankfully no worse side effects so far than just feeling nasty - light headed and nauseated).

For those that have worked up to the highest dose, do you remember how long it took before you felt normal again? Thankfully on the lower doses I never felt like this (or maybe that's just because I always took it at night? But I don't feel right taking a full 2,000mg all at once so I've been splitting it into 1000 at night and 1000 in the a.m.)

Any tips for the queasiness? I hate that my instinct says "eat bread" but I know that will make me feel worse!

And knowing I was going to increase the dose, I've also cut back on carbs in my diet hoping that would help. Evidently not.

Sorry if this was long and rambly. But thanks for any help!
