Our five year anniversary is next month and we have a vacation planned. I really want to try a Brazilian wax but I'm not sure when to do it. Would the day before be too soon? Would I be ok going the weekend before our trip?

I have gone the day before but if this is your first go 2-3 days before so you give your lady bits some time to get rid of any redness if your skin is sensitive.

I would go 2 days before. And if you've never had one before, follow all the tips about popping advil/Tylenol 1.5 hours before, don't do it right before your period, and maybe invest in one of those numbing cremes.
The first time I did it, I was shocked at how painful it was. It was much less painful all the subsequent times.

@Anagram: is right on the cycle part - the closer to your period the more it will hurt!

@Anagram: I agree with all of this. Definitely don't do it the day before, you will probably still be tender. And yeah the first time is the worst, sorry. But it's so nice to not have to worry about shaving.

Yeah go a few days before, take Advil before, and don't go during your cycle! Also, see if they want you to trim...it hurts more if it's longer

Yep, go a few days before. I do a Brazilian every month. It's not so bad.

When I got mine done the one and only time I was hair free for about 2-3 weeks so feel free to do it the weekend before. It'll give you time to calm your skin. It wasn't too bad yes to ibuprofren, numbing gel if you need it and definitely exfoliate so your vag doesn't look like a pizza when it starts growing in.

I just had my first 2 days ago. It just now starting to look less red. Yesterday it looked really red and irritated still. So i would say 2-3 days before.

I agree with PP that going 2 days before is fine-actually, a few days is fine, especially if you have sensitive or fair skin. The red bumps subside in a day or two.

I would go a few days before! I don't get red bumps (if they use the right kind of wax for your skin it shouldn't) but do get red for a day or so.
