I want to make a shadow box with a bunch of LO's stuff from the hospital. If you've ever made a shadow box...
(1) What size did you use?
(2) Where did you buy it?
(3) How did you secure the items? (Double-sided tape, hot glue, pins?)
Thanks!

DH made one for me with stuff from our engagement. He used a 8x10 sized box that he got from Hobby Lobby. I think he used double sided tape. Some of the stuff fell, so I recommend hot glue.

@Leialou: Ooh good point about stuff falling with the tape. I want to put her coming home outfit in it, though, so I don't really want to hot glue it. But I don't know if push pins would work...

@lawbee11: Push pins would work for the outfit for sure. Other stuff you can decided whether hot glue or double sided tape is best depending on how "heavy" it is. I did this with a bunch of stuff from our wedding

I bought the cream shadow boxes from pottery barn or pb kids, can't remember which. They were around $50 each I think, but had coupons. I used pins, like the kind for sewing with the little colored balls on the head. I really like how the pins look and they hold even the shirts and hats without a problem.

I used a box i got at homegoods that has a magnetic door and a puffy fabric background.... I used colored pearl head straight pins i can post a picture tonight.... I also used a really large one that was purchased at michael's with a felt covered cardboard as the background and did the same thing for a work project displaying a costume

I made one with wedding things and I used pins. It was a Martha Stewart brand shadow box and came with T shaped pins.

I received one for my wedding like @ChillyBear described that has a magnetic door and a mat that could take pins. I think pins would be best.
And I love the magnetic door because I've added some things to it and it's much easier than having to take the whole thing apart.

@lawbee11: I would use pins on the clothes! I still need to make one!

Oh, I like the idea of the pearl headed pins, I have one to put together for my wedding memorabilia, but have been stalling.
