M turned 4 months yesterday, and I think we've been dealing with the 4-month sleep regression for the last week or so. She was up 4 times last night (over the course of 12 1/2 hours). Last night was the worst we've had in a longggg time. For the last few weeks she's been getting up twice which I can deal with. But 4 times is hard!! She used to be able to consistently go 7-8 hours before a wakeup. Now her first wakeup is between 3-4 hours (so usually right as I am getting into bed...great!).

She seems to be having the hardest time settling herself. I watch her on the monitor and she is just moving all around in her sleep. She sleeps through a lot of it (I have no idea how). Is this what the 4-month sleep regression looked like for you?

I've been nursing her back to sleep at every waking (she doesn't take a paci). Last night DH went in and tried to rock her back to sleep/walk around with her. But even if she falls asleep on DH she can't seem to settle herself unless I nurse her. He put her down and she immediately just started moving all around.

I talked to her pediatrician about it at her checkup yesterday and he said just to continue nursing her when she wakes and it'll pass soon. I told him I am worried about creating bad habits, and he said not to worry and just keep doing what I am doing.

Did anyone else's baby go through this and eventually stop waking so much without sleep training? I feel like it's too soon to sleep train since the regression started so recently, but I am worried the longer it goes on the harder it's going to be to break it if it does become a habit.
