Oh man, I had a list of questions, and I know I wrote them on here, but I have no idea how long ago or anything

Big questions I asked (that I wanted to make sure we were on the same page about) :

Do they vaccinate on schedule? Do they see un-vaccinated patients?
Feelings on circumcision/breastfeeding/co-sleeping/sleep training/solids
Separate waiting room for sick babies?
How long to wait for a sick-baby appointment?
If she's not available, who will I be seeing?
Was there an LC on staff?
Did they have late/after work/weekend hours?
How many patients do they see?
How much time is allotted for each appointment?
Can I email?
Use of antibiotics for things like ear infections

I also looked for a clean office, friendly staff, child-friendly areas, etc.

Honestly, though, I didn't get the answers I wanted to some of my questions (for one my office is very...clinical.) But I immediately felt comfortable with the pedi we chose, and knew she was the right one, which allowed me to overlook some of the things that didn't match (not the major things, though, like vaccinations).

I asked a bunch of questions that gave me an idea of his open-mindedness and flexibility on things.

Questions about co-sleeping, breastfeeding, vaccinations... Also, will I be able to contact someone during off hours and weekends if my kid is sick, how do they fit in last minute appointments. It was great meeting in person because it was the best way for me to assess the general vibe, like @Raindrop: said. A lot has to do with personality! I felt immediately at ease with the pediatrician we went with.

- Vaccination scheduling
- Philosophy on breastfeeding and formula (As a FTM I was determined to BF, but didn't want to be chewed out or made to feel like a horrible mother if I failed)
- Do they rotate doctors or will LO see the same one
- Who do you see if office is closed?

And most important to me was their approach to treatment and how I felt with them. My pediatrician is very laid back and takes the "wait and see" method, which is great because he doesn't jump straight to antibiotics, and he spent a lot of time speaking with us and we felt like we had all his attention.

@NorCalWayfarer: Did you just call the peds office and request a meet and greet? Finding a pediatrician is one of the many things on my pre-baby arrival to do list! Thanks!
