Egg white (microwaved in a bowl to make a "patty") and cheese on a toasted whole wheat English muffin
Luna bars (although they don't necessarily keep me full until lunch, I'd need a snack in between)
Oatmeal with peanut butter and banana

Toast spread with coconut oil or mashed avocado. Healthy fats and protein are the trick.

Personal sized baked oatmeals, You cook a bunch in a night or on a weekend and freeze them. Take them out the night before, or even that morning, and microwave before you leave the house or when you get to work.
Here's the recipe I used: http://pinterest.com/pin/215609900880449421/

@ninja: I'm going to have to try this, I love breakfast sandwiches but don't like going through a drive thru to get them. I will have to start making them at home!

Green smoothies!!!! A few strawberries, banana, almond milk, spinach, ice and blendddd. It takes less than 5 minutes to make and is FABULOUS. I also add in a little peanut butter protein powder. They’re perfect for hot weather.

For a while I was making an egg casserole every weekend - 18 eggs, whatever veggies I had around the house sauteed and mixed with the eggs, baked until firm. All I had to do in the morning was cut a piece and heat it up, and the protein from the eggs made me feel super full.

@Running Elley: I was going to say that!! so happy to see someone else loves them as much as I do!
It's my breakfast EVERY morning, you get your protein, folic, vitamins etc- all the essentials to start your day right!!
This is my go-to Green smoothie:
1/2 cup of unsweetened coconut milk
1/2 cup filtered water
1 cup of spinach, kale, chard, dandelion leaf or other dark leafy green
1/3 cup of frozen or fresh mango (or pineapple- I mix it up now and then)
1 banana
1 TBSP of chia seeds - they help keep you full for longer
juice of half a lemon - helps your digestion and cleanse your insides It also helps give you stamina for the day
This takes me less than ten minutes to make and I can easily drink it in the car.
It's easy to change it up too, I also like peaches, strawberries and apples in my smoothies. Use a variety of greens and milks - you can use almond milk, cows milk, goats milk - or even eliminate the milk and just use water. Which is what I do if I don't have any on hand.
I also usually have some Sprouted Wheat and Honey muffins from Trader Joes on hand for busy mornings - they are made with honey instead of sugar, so they're soo much better for you! Sprouted wheat is a better flour than traditional all-purpose. So they are a healthier option and I will stay full for a few hours! I usually eat it with a piece of fruit, like an apple.

@jessiejo17: I'll actually make a few of them, then freeze the extras. About a minute in the microwave from frozen, and it's good to go

@Coco Bee: Do you taste the"green" in the smoothie? I don't know if I would like the spinach taste in the morning.

I like to make a frittata on the weekend and fill it with lots of meat and veggies. Then I just pop it in the microwave in the mornings and reheat.
pineapple / 12234 posts
I make a faux mcmuffin with turkey bacon, low fat cheese, lettuce, a tiny bit of light mayo, tomato and of course egg white. I like the whole wheat sandwich thins instead of an English muffin.
Also, I love green smoothies too--spinach, banana, seeded grapes (grape seeds are so good for you!), blackberries, strawberries, water and sometimes fat free yogurt is my usual.
If I'm feeling lazy, then just a fiber one bar and a glass of milk.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@jessiejo17: nope! the smoothie takes on the flavor of the fruits you toss in it!

Also frozen breakfast burritos are good in a pinch.
Toasted whole wheat waffles w/peanut butter

You can't taste the green in green smoothies! It isn't necessarily quick though, unless everything is prepped in advance. Also, an immersion blender is much easier than a blender!
Quick breakfasts for me usually involve 2 scrambled eggs on a piece of wheat toast. Yum!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@jessiejo17: nope! unless you have a blender that doesn't blend very well. In our old blender I'd get chunks of green leaves and that was kinda gross. I have an oster and it works great for me. I let it blend for about 30-60 seconds. It usually tastes more like fruit, sweet. You can always add some honey if you don't think it's sweet enough. Bananas REALLY sweeten it up. They are the best fruit, I've found, to hide the green taste. Frozen berries don't work nearly as well. You sometimes have to experiment to find your favorites too.
Check out the book Green Smoothie Revolution - it's the book that got me started on them and they have some "beginner" recipes. It's a really great book!

@bienlivingdesign: really? I have an immersion blender, but I keep thinking that the chunks of fruit/greens would get stuck in it. It actually blends well? I haven't tried it.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
@Coco Bee: I'm goign to give it a try and I'll report back (probably won't be until this weekend when I make it to the store for all the goods.) I believe my blender is an Oster as well so hopefully it will work well!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@jessiejo17: oh good!! I hope you like it It's pretty easy and quick in the morning for me. I usually have all the stuff prepped - my mango/pineapple is cut and frozen in the freezer, then just add all the stuff. It's great. You can also make extra and store them covered in the fridge for up to three days. They make change color, appear a little darker than a crisp bright green, but they taste and quality will be the exact same

I have to try the green smoothies! I only have an immersion blender at the moment, but I do love a smoothie, especially in the summer.
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
Quick? Toasted blueberry bagel with cream cheese or white toast with mango orange jelly.
Those of you who make the green smoothies, I want to make them so bad. Need to go out and buy some almond milk, spinach and some fruit. I think it's a good time for a Costco run.
I have made smoothies in the past and just freeze them into single servings. So all I have to do is grab one out the freezer or thaw it in the fridge the night before. I got this idea from onceamonthmom.com
Yeah, going to go to Costco today.

hmm I'm intrigued by the green smoothies! I do not eat nearly enough fruits and vegetables. DH is a smoothie fiend, but only fruit, no greens.
I'm nervous about tasting the greens though. @jessiejo17, any luck this weekend?
blogger / pear / 1964 posts
Maybe now that summer's here I'll be in more of a smoothie mood - but typically I'm a hot breakfast girl. My favorite quick breakfast is sunflower whole wheat toast topped with low fat cottage cheese (sounds gross, but it's the best combination).
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@jessiejo17: did you try it, did you, did you?!?!
@bluestriped bee: oooh yay let me know how it goes! We just went to costco today too.
@sorrycharlie: I promise, if you make it right with the correct fruit combinations, you don't taste it! I was so nervous at first but sooo happy that I jumped the gun and tried it.
pear / 1586 posts
I agree with @coco bee, you cannot taste the green at all. Believe me I would tell you if you could. I make mine with a greek yogurt (any flavor), a banana, spinach, wheat germ, either frozen or fresh fruit, ice, and 100% juice. I used to make it with milk but since I don't finish it at once it ended up separating in the fridge. With the juice and ice blend I don't get any separation. Plus I get the calcium from the yogurt. They're yummy and customizable!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@cheesetomywhine: that's what I love - you can do sooo many variations
-Fruits
-Vegetables
-yogurt
-milks - almond, coconut, cows
-juice
-add ins: peanut butter, chia seeds, flax, protein powder
it takes practice to find what works but when you have a few different favorites - it's easy and yummy

We do a lot of eggs on English muffins.
Oatmeal. The quickest if we're running late is cereal!
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
@Coco Bee: not yet! Haven't made it to the store....ha

@cheesetomywhine: Thanks for the tip of adding juice instead of milk to my smoothies. I'll have to try that.
bananas / 9118 posts
A couple english muffins with neusfachel cheese.
Or on the weekends I make a large batch of steel cut oatmeal (not instant, this takes a while) toss it in a few tupperwares with a spoonful of peach preserves (I'm hooked on all things peach) and stick them in the freezer. A fairly quick microwave, and breakfast is ready with a splash of milk.

I've been having the same breakfast forever, about 1/2 cup of fiber one cereal (the one with raisins) with almond milk or skim milk, whatever is available. having lots of fiber for breakfast really keeps me full and keeps me going until lunch!
apricot / 495 posts
I'm not a big breakfast fan so I usually have a cup of plain greek yogurt with a squirt of honey and some cereal or a cup of plain greek yogurt with fruit.
