Can it be brown, or does it have to be red/pink? The last few times I've wiped when going to the bathroom I've had a fair bit of brown discharge.
I'm 39+4.

My mucus plug was brown but my bloody show (that happened minutes before contractions started) was red like a period.

I had the same brown discharge the day I was in labor (I think it was mucous plug). Never had bright red until the midwife checked at the hospital when I was 4cm.

I thought it was BS but in hindsight, it was my mucas plug a couple of days before I went into labor. I didn't really start bleeding until I was well into active labor.

My mucus plug was brownish. My bloody show was bright red. Sounds like things are getting close!

All of my show/plug was brown - I didn't have any bleeding until baby was actually delivered (well, none that I know of). Good luck!!!

That sounds like what my pre-labor symptoms were. Sounds like things are getting started!

Mine was brown and pink. I went into labor the next day!
