Old Navy. We have tons of hand me downs too. Our favorites are from LL Bean!

Carter's or OshKosh B'Gosh have been both affordable and decent coats for us these past 2 years.

We got one at a consignment sale. I didn't want to spend a lot on a coat because our winters can either be really really mild or super super cold. I didn't want to waste the money. If I knew we were going to have a super cold winter I would have gotten something from LL Bean.

I also got mine at a consignment store. Originally $95 from MEC, i got it for $25. Since where i live can get super cold (-25 to -40 F), i didn't want to buy my coat at one of the usual children's clothing stores because i don't find that they're that warm.
Sports clothing stores usually has sales around this time. I saw some Columbia bunting suits on sale for about $30.

I got this one for $25 from target I love the cute bow on the back and it looks much nicer in person. They also have a few other pea coats there for under $30

Oh and they have nice snow suits too, but I'm not sure if I should get one or not

@Mrsbells: Oh my goodness, that's adorable. Did you get it in store or online?

charlie has a puffy jacket from zara. olive has one from gap. they also have wool coats (olive from old navy, charlie from janie & jack that was a gift), but i find you have to wear an extra layer with those, so it's more work.

LO has 3 snowsuits. The nicest two are from NorthFace and LL Bean; the one from Carters is a little less thick/warm feeling.
She also has a winter jacket from a consignment shop; but the snowsuits are easiest IMO to make sure she's all covered up at all times.

Our winters can get pretty brutal here and I have a feeling we're due for a rough winter. So she def needs a actual "winter" coat not just something that looks pretty.
@caffeinated: where did you see the Columbia one? Amazon had them for $39 but I waited too long and they're back up to $60 now!

@regberadaisy: I saw it at SportChek...but i think that's a Canadian store. Sorry! I just figured other sports clothing stores would have sales around this time as well.

My son's down coat is from the gap. My daughter's down jacket is from REI. She also has a snow outfit from Columbia sportswear that's a hand me down from her brother.

My son has a down snowsuit from Patagonia (gift from MIL) and he also got a handmedown snowsuit from LLBean (which I leave at daycare). I would like to get him a wool coat but don't want to spend a lot.

We got a head-to-toe snowsuit from Baby Gap. It's awesome because it comes with mitts and boots that snap on to the legs and arms.
I may have to invest in a coat. Right now he wears a thick hooded sweatshirt and a puffy vest on colder days.
