Does your LO have this tricycle? I am looking for a small trike she can ride right now....MIL bought her a large trike that she probably can't use until she is 3-3.5 or older.
I love how RED is defined as a boy color here...

@autumnlove: This trike is super easy to ride.. my DD loved riding it around in TRU... However, because it's very light weight, she would try to turn a corner and topple over. I think it's best for the younger toddler for that reason. I think she was maybe 3 at the time, even a little younger.

we got this for DD's 2nd birthday, but she was more like 2.5 - 2.75 yo when she was able to start pedaling on it. I guess we also didn't take it out til then because that's when it was warmer out in NY. I liked the trike, but wish I had gotten the one with a push handle instead. I think that would have been easier for both of us!

@T-Mom: I think it is 8lbs! Maybe I will take LO to TRU to test drive!
@SAHM0811: a handle sounds nice!

@autumnlove: Might not be a bad idea to test drive!
We have the one with the handle for my DS. He's 28 months and still working on the peddling, even though he can reach the pedals.

We have this in the girl version (pink/purple) that my mom found used. Our LO is almost 30 months and tall for her age and has almost outgrown it though she doesn't really know how to peddle yet. Her knees are hitting the handle bar.
Definitely do a test drive if you can before buying.

My kids are 21 months and we got them one for Xmas. I think it's great, if they are supervised. You turn your head away and do something else, it definitely topples over to the side. They love it, but need help right now.

We have one similar to this. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=28971626&cp=2255956.2262937.4446791&parentPage=family
We got it for E's first birthday and have used it for walks around the neighborhood since then. He's 20 months now, and figuring out pedaling and steering. You can make it so the trike is either parent controlled or child controlled. It is very sturdy.

@autumnlove: We got that one for C's birthday- he doesn't get the pedaling part yet (but has only had it since Tuesday), but is great at scooting backwards. My MIL did all the research for it and liked it compared to other options.
He can reach the pedals, but still has room to grow into it (for reference since C & E are the same size.) The tag says 18m-3 years. So far I'm happy with it, let me know if you want me to shoot an IG video so you can see it in action

@autumnlove: lol, cool- I'll tag you in IG later tonight once I get one. He's having a good time with it, but doesn't quite get it yet, in no time I'll be cringing with him zipping around everywhere
