The method does not depend on Transvag vs abdominal. Rather, you need a transverse view. If it is not transverse you can't make a determination. It's trickier to get the right image and make a determination than people presume... And if the tech doesn't get a transverse view and tell you that orientation, then you can't know.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: that would flip mine too then. So confusing.
@Mrs. Jacks: that makes a lot f sense and that's why I posted that its just for fun. My doctor told me I ovulated from my left ovary and that's where the corpus lutetium is but I can't figure out which side is the CL. I feel like I see it on the right looking at the image and that orientates the picture but who knows. That's why I posted that its just for fun. Wish I had known to ask the doc what I was looking at specifically.

@MrsMccarthy: I don't think which ovary you ovulated from makes any difference. Rather, it's where the placenta lies.

I was told that when you're viewing the ultrasound pictures it's from the point of view of someone looking at you straight on.
Not really mirrored, just a different point of view.
So what you see on the right side of the photo, is actually on your left side. (so it would be like @MrsMccarthy: said in the first post "lay it on your belly upright and left will be left and right will be right." )

@Mrs. Jump Rope: oh I know. I'm just saying that if I could figure out what the corpus lutiem was I could orientate my ultrasound because its definitely on the left. I have a feeling these things are better read with the tech there to help orientate you.

@MrsMccarthy: just letting people know in case they want to ask their tech for a transverse shot to really be able to figure it out

I think its fun, gives you something to figure out while you wait to know....lol

Just wanted to update this saying that I am having a girl. Not sure if the image is flipped or what but it was the Harmony test so it's 99% accurate!

@Silva: thanks! I'm shocked. Had the old wives tales stacked up high in boy but here we are and I am thrilled!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: Since this post reappeared I thought I'd have you take a look at my ultrasound of the twins. Thoughts on sex? FYI my cervix is at the right.

@MrsMccarthy: I would definitely be ok with that! Ideally I'd like to have at least one girl and we're done after these twins for sure.

Can someone tell me what this looks like?! This was my first ultrasound. It was TV at 9w4d. I have a STRONG feeling about gender and i'm curious if it fits the theory

Can anyone take a guess at mine? Top picture is my DD at 7w, bottom is current pregnancy at 7+4.

Updating - @Mrs. Jump Rope: was correct. Baby2 is in fact a girl!

Just for fun what are your guesses? It was a tv ultrasound. I have a gut feeling, but who knows!
ETA: I may be too far along for the theory and cannot tell at all where the placenta is, but I thought it would be worth posting!

@anonysquire: yours is hard to tell because all I see is baby but I can't tell where he or she is attached! Sure is adorable though. Congrats on your pregnancy by the way. I love your little Zuma so much! She is too cute and you are too funny!!!
