Just a random question for all the Mama's out there, did you wear your rings to the hospital / during delivery?
I don't usually like to take my wedding / engagement rings off but I don't want to remove them while in hospital and either lose them or have them go "missing".
What did you do / are you planning on doing?

I left mine at home. Too paranoid that either I'd lose them somehow, or I'd swell and have to have them cut off or something!

I left mine at home too, I didn't want to chance that they got misplaced.

I wore my substitute ring and a necklace. No one suggested I remove anything and while I was in labor, I forgot about them being on.

I wore mine along with my usual earrings and necklace. Upon admission to the hospital I was told I had to remove all jewelry (apparently hospital policy). I suggest checking with your OB and the hospital because I was stuck in a where to put them so they won't get lost scenario.
This time I had to remove them due to swelling so I'm just going to leave them off until after I get home from the hospital.

my rings no longer fit come 6 weeks. haha.
but if they did, i would of left them at home. wouldn't want to leave them behind with all the excitement of meeting your LO.

my rings stopped fitting several weeks before delivery...so nope! Didn't wear them.

Mine didn't fit either. But if they had, the plan was to leave them at home. And at 3 months post-partum, my fingers are finally getting back to their normal size and I can squeeze my wedding band and engagement ring on. First time I've worn them since February . . .

Mine was already a bit tight and I knew my hands were likely to swell more (due to IV fluids and pushing) so I took them off and left them at home.

Mine were off long before delivery. It was summer in Florida so I was swelling a lot.

I left them at home. I heard from other moms that the hospital won't let you wear them during delivery.
ETA: I heard from a friend of a friend that our hospital doesn't let you wear your rings.

I just wear my wedding ring normally and it still fit fine so I wore it and it wasn't a problem. It's a thin band so I don't think it would take the jaws of life to get off in a pinch.

Mine stopped fitting way before I went into labor, but I did buy a CZ that I wore at the end of my pregnancy...and I wore it during labor. I hadn't heard that you couldnt wear them...They'll sometimes make you take your fingernail polish off if they cant get your pulse ox, but luckily my manicure stayed in tact.

If mine still fit by then I intend to leave them at home. I've heard a lot of people tend to have swelling if you end up needing an IV for any reason so I just don't want to risk having them get stuck.

First time around my rings stopped fitting very early on. Second time I had my reset done and I had the rings made larger. I kept them on as well as my necklace, earrings and contacts!

I ended up taking mine off and putting them in my purse once I got to my Labor & Delivery room. I was glad I did, bc I got very swollen from all the fluids in the IV - I think they would have been painful for the day after delivery if I'd left them on. But they fit again by the time I left the hospital so I wore them out.

I usually just wear my wedding band so I wore it to the hospital and through my labor. I was afraid that if I didn't wear it people at the hospital would judge me for not being married, even though DH was there with me. Weird, I know!

My wedding band fit fine, but I gave it to my husband when we got to the hospital, just in case. Not sure if they had any kind of policy.

I had to take mine off around 30 weeks because of swelling. I wore my wedding band on a chain around my neck, and wore that to the hospital. I had to made DH take it off sometime during pushing, though. I was throwing up a lot, and the extra pressure on my neck wasn't helping. He stashed it away in the coin purse in my wallet, which was in the diaper bag.

I just had to take off my rings on Saturday due to swelling so I won’t be wearing them. I’ll probably wear my substitute CZ though!

@Kemma: I already had mine off for about 5 weeks, for fear of swelling up and getting them stuck on. I wore my rings around my neck on a necklace instead for all that time, including delivery.
