Thought I'd start a place where we can post about L&D! I can't believe we're here already. Best of luck to everyone for easy and fast labors and deliveries.

I'll start this thread out since I'm being induced in a few hours and have been tossing and turning all night long--how are you supposed to sleep knowing that you're about to have a baby?? I know my body will rise to the occasion but at this point I'm ready for this long night to be over!

Not so much as a watch as HE'S HERE!!
37 week appointment 7/11/16
Due Date 7/31/16
Dr checked me at my 37 week appointment and I was almost a 4 and 70-80% effaced.
Contractions started 8pm and were pretty uncomfortable right from the start. Once I started timing them they were 5 min apart and getting closer . We had the sitter come at 10:45 and we were at the hospital by 11. Contractions were 2-3 min apart when arrived. My first check was at 11:20p and I was a 5-6 with a bulging bag. I was moved to a room really fast with all my pokes done within 15 min. (2x to get an Iv in the arm not hand, GD blood sugar check, and 2x for blood work because the girl didn't know what she was doing. ) They asked me about breaking my water but I was concerned that if they did it i would be pushing soon and I really wanted my OB there. They called her and she said she was on her way and if I wanted the bag broken she would be here asap. They broke my water around 12:30-12:45. My dr was here by 1:20a she checked me after talking and a contraction and I was 100% and 9.5 almost 10. They turned the room (we labor, deliver and recover all in one room) while I went through 1 more contraction and just 2 contractions and 6 pushes later Wes was born.
My dr did everything I wanted. Delay cord clamping, skin to skin asap, she let me push the placenta out. It was an amazing birth experience. I could not have asked for anything more prefect and I have another perfect little boy.

Thanks for all the well wishes--the pitocin contractions are, so far, uncomfortable and heating up but not painful yet. I had a similar induction with my daughter and at this point would say I still have many hours to go but that it will happen by tonight...

Well, I am taking a pitocin break to eat--I just wasn't making enough progress and too hungry to make it through the whole birth at this rate. They will try to break my water in a few hours...Whew!
