I'm a gagger. I always gag when they try to do x-rays at the dentist. Today the hygenist asked me if I would like to try putting some salt on my tongue. She poured some salt from a packet onto my tongue. 4 x-rays. 4 salt applications. No gagging. What?? Where has this been all of my life? If you are a gagger, I would totally suggest trying this the next time you need x-rays at the dentist.

Another health tip, ask for a lead neck guard. The regular chest vests do not cover your neck which is where a lot of sensitive organs are like lymph nodes and your thyroid. No need to expose them to unnecessary radiation. Most offices have an extra strap you can put on your neck but they often dont bother with the extra step.

I get the children's tools and film, makes a difference but the salt thing is interesting. I wonder why it works.

@T.H.O.U.: I saw that on FB a while ago and fwd it to my mom and sister, for mammograms too! My sister just happened to go to the dentist too, and she said they automatically gave it to her which is good!

wow never heard of this, thank you! I usually only gag when they use the big adult sized ones, my mouth is small!
