What do you think of the name Ransom?
I saw someone named their son this and while it sounds cute and actually means "warrior's sheild", I'm personally having a hard time getting past the image of kidnapping and ransom notes/money that immediately come to mind upon hearing the name.

It's actually a family name of mine and I tried to get my husband to consider it, but he wasn't into it. I like it, though a lot of people will automatically associate with the negative connotation.

@bree72: I am hoping it is a family name. I think it sounds pleasing and rather cute, but it has too much of a negative connotation for me.

@sera_87: She got pregnant after the miscarriage. This LO was just born. And no hard feelings lol, this isn't on our baby list of names!

@sera_87: It's another baby. Her first baby with Jeremy was due within days of my LO. She miscarried, but got knocked up again. I still can't get over the weird spelling to that name.

@cascademom: I had to look it up to see if was even a name! She gets points for creativity I guess. ETA: Ahh I didn't see that! I wonder if middle names are the same letters?

@cascademom: One of my biggest pet peeves with names is when people make them up, so obviously I am not a fan of Addalynn!

@sorrycharlie: I agree. Addalynn isn't the worst name ever but it's also not my favorite. Also, me too with the worry. I immediately though "What? What happened?" when I saw the title.

Yeah, no way to Ransom. I thought this thread was gonna be about the Mel Gibson movie, haha.
As for the teen mom name, she basically gave her twins the same name (Aleesomething) so Addalynn doesn't sound too shocking to me.

I kind of love Ransom! Guess I'm the only one.. haha
I heard two coworkers in the supermarket talking yesterday and one was calling the other fellow "Hawk". I thought to myself, that's a pretty badass name! Then I saw his name tag and it was "Hoque" which is an Arabic name and made sense when I saw his face. Still cool.

Ransom is okay i guess... sounds nice, but I suppose the child/man would have to explain one too many times
