I'm not at this stage yet, but really? Am I the only one that thinks it's overkill? (it's called the "iPotty")

@Mrs. Tricycle: My first reaction is very similar . . . *huh?* BUT, in my nine months as a parent, I have learned at this point to never say never . . . whatever works! So, if this were the only option left to try I would consider it . . .

crazy! they would want to be on the potty all the time just to play. my kid is not getting an ipad or ipotty. guess im a mean mom

Seriously?! Who comes up with this stuff?
@MsLipGloss: I agree in theory on the never say never. I've certainly done things I never thought I would. But, with something like this where I can say that pretty much every child in the world who was born before this invention was successfully potty trained without it I just can't get on board.

Hahaha, I find it hilarious. I don't think I would use it, but I also haven't gone through potty training, so I don't have the slightest idea what parents have to put up with yet!

@MamaMoose: Lol, yeah, I hear ya . . . but imagine if they said the same thing about calculators . . .Einstein didn't need one, and we still have the theory of relativity. ( An extreme example, fo sho!)

@Mrs. Tricycle: I dont like it! we are kind of potty training and LO sits on the toilet and I just give her a toy

I think it's ridiculous. First, I'm not a fan of the iPad so that's not helping here. Second, I'm not a fan of a lot of screen time. Doesn't this just scream "Watch as much as you want, kid!" to anyone else?

Yes, that product is ridiculous but I have potty trained and yes, I did let her watch iPad videos during training. Lots of kids have phobias about pooping in the toilet (pee might be fine). So in order to have her feel more comfortable, she watched the iPad until she felt at ease pooping on the potty. This lasted a few weeks. So maybe you would be surprised at what you would let your kid do in order to avoid constipation!

@Andrea: That is exactly the reason I don't like to say never - you gotta go (hahaha - pun intended!) with what works!

I think it is kind of unsanitary! I would have to lysol wipe the heck out of that ipad!

I had my DD watch lots of youtube our first day of potty training. Thankfully it only took one day for her to be trained!

@rahlyrah: exactly what i was thinking LOL.
i would never buy this product.
i would however use our phone/youtube/ipad as a distraction during training

@Andrea: So true -- I do all kinds of things in desperation now that I never imagined before. I can already see myself adding to an Amazon order when I'm at my wits-end. At the moment, though, it just makes me laugh.

@stargal: I'm right there with ya! My kids not getting an iPad...let alone an iPad attached to his potty!
I think this is just detrimental

I've seen that a lot of time and I always think it's over the top. I trained just fine, and I didn't even have a computer when I was 2!
Seems just frivolous.

Well, my husband brings his phone into the bathroom and I think lots of ladies on this board do the same thing!
My husband hasn't seen this yet, but I know when he does, I will be the proud owner of one of those things. I also agree 1000% on never say never. You just don't know until you've BTDT.

Blimey, if my hubby had this he would spend even more time sitting on the loo!!
