It doesn't bother me when the person in front of me reclines their seat. I'm a short person so I have more than enough room either way.

People fly with the knowledge that the seats recline....therefore it should not be a shock when someone actually does recline their seat. I don't LIKE when the seat in front of me is reclined, but it is that passenger's right to do so.

Doesn't bother me, I never recline my seat though. I have heard of people flipping out because they couldn't recline their seat because the person behind them was a baby in a carseat... It just amazes me!

I feel like getting on an airplane is like playing the lottery--maybe you'll get a good seat mate, maybe you'll win and no one will sit there, maybe the person next to you will eat a stinky sandwich loudly... same with seat reclining. I mostly think people need to calm the f down (seriously, two grown adults??). With that said, I recline on occasion and expect that others will do the same...

Same as Hilsy85. I feel mildly annoyed when people recline but I usually do it too (not that it makes a difference to the person behind me but I do feel a tiny stab of guilt when I do it.)
I think it comes down to so much of the traveling public being completely rude and lacking in manners. The other day I had a man sitting next to me (I had the window seat, he had the aisle) get up and stand in the aisle while he waited for me to deplane first. And also retrieved my bag from the overhead. Honestly I was shocked at how gentlemanly he was cause I'm so used to seeing people get up and stand in the aisles ahead of others seated in front of them as soon as the seat belt sign comes off (and as often as I see that I still don't understand such rudeness).

People can recline all they want. I would much rather there be more people bitching about the size of carry on luggages, and those that have to punch their oversized carryons into the over head compartment and hold up the ENTIRE plane from finding their seats. Ok, this is a hot topic for me lol.

Recline at will. My primary concern on a flight is safety. As long as the airlines deemed the recline position safe, have at it. Now if your comfort interferes with my personal space like your chair or my tray table now touches my knees then we have a problem.

and do not even get me started on the people whose carry-on is busting at the seams and *then* on top of that their "personal item" is the size of a house. That is not the size of a purse or laptop bag, asshole!

I think it's fine to recline, but it's nice when people are judicious about it. If the person behind you has a lap child, maybe only recline a little (if at all). I usually recline a bit, but not the full way.

Seats only recline like an inch anymore, so I don't really think it makes that much of a difference to the person wishing to sleep. I only recline if I'm on a red eye.

I'm tall (5'8") and it's alllll my legs, so I HATE when people recline. Because then ME reclining does not really help me, because their seat is now hitting my knees. That's what bothers me.

Also when you have a computer open or a drink out and someone just slams the seat back. Someone sent my laptop nearly flying that way on an Amtrak train once.

Ugh, I wish the seats did not recline.

I'm nearly 5 10 and I don't mind reclining as I just stretch my legs out under the seat anyway so the reclining would only make the tray closer to my belly not my knees. It is sooo much more comfy to recline!

I am annoyed when people recline but.....if airlines didn't want people to recline they should not have made reclining seats! I just deal with it.

I am more annoyed with...
1. People who douse their bodies with very strong cologne/perfume before a flight
2. People who hog the armrest
3. People who have bad breath and are sitting right next to you and want to tell you their life story....

@yoursilverlining: lol glad i'm not the only one! I feel bad for the people at the end of the line who are waiting to sit down and then realize there is no more overhead space so they have to check their bags.

I don't mind. They don't even recline all that much, anyways.

I do hate people who recline because I'm tall....but it's par for the course. I certainly expect it *shrug*. I hate when people recline aggressively. Thanks, but you don't really need to put your back into it, heh. I just wish they were stationary seats.

I think it's hilarious someone invented the Knee Defender. So smart.

I don't recline my seat as it annoys me when the person in front of me does it. However, I'd never get mad about it, I know it's totally expected! It made it awkward flying last time as I had B on my lap and with the seat in front reclined it just made things a little more difficult. It's totally the passengers right to though!

I don't mind when people recline their seats, but I'm not overly tall or anything. I just think it's one of those things you have to deal with though if you are flying- the seats are able to recline so you should assume most people will recline theirs.
