The humidity has been wrecking havoc on my hair so I've been starting to use my straightener a few times week. Went to use it this morning and it wouldn't turn on. 
It was a Remington Wet to Straight which I like the convenience of taking out an extra step of blow drying. But open to recommendations of other types. I know Chi is a popular brand but it's SO expensive!
I have thin straight hair if it makes a difference. Thanks!

@regberadaisy: I have an instyler rotating hot iron/straightner. I love it! it's $100 though.....I like that it can curl the hair too if you want.

I have the Sedu, but it's a little over $100. It's so worth it though!! I used to use the Remington wet to straight also, but had to replace it yearly since I have thick hair so the hubby told me for the money I spend replacing it yearly, I should just get a "nice" straightner. It's been over 4 years with my Sedu and it's still going strong!

I have an Amika and it's AMAZING. About $100 but it works so well on my thick, coarse, curly hair. I need a hard-core straightener.

Keratin treatments, unless you don't want to go in that direction, are a huge timesaver.

@regberadaisy: I use Solia, and love it! 8 years and still going strong. I bought a *back up* 3 years ago cause there was a sale so I figured I'd pick one up just in case, and still haven't had to use it yet.
