I’m looking for a jean-ish legging for a 5yo girl. The cat and jack ones I bought keep getting holes but if I could that that legging with a reinforced knee that would be great. Any recommendations for something like that? Mostly worn under dresses etc

@gotkimchi: what about the Cat&Jack moto leggings, or the skinny stretch jeans with the patches at the knees? If the holes are from friction/falls, I’m unfortunately not sure there is a great solution. I love Hanna Andersson leggings primarily for their fit and thicker material, but they still show wear at the knees when my girls crawl around, and we’ve found them to tear at seams pretty easily if they catch on playground equipment. They’re also not jean-like.
There was another thread on this recently and I think the key takeaway is that all leggings wear quicker than jeans/looser pants, so you might just be better off buying the cheap ones and replacing or patching as needed.

@PinkElephant: hmm ok I’ll look into that. The most recent cat and jack stuff I’ve found isn’t holding up well so I feel like overall the quality isn’t as good as it was. I might check Hanna Andersson or like you said maybe I can work out a patch

My girl (7) is rough on leggings and some of the Lands End iron knee ones are in year 2 for her with no holes!

@mamabolt: ooh yes this is good! I forgot these because we’ve never bought new Lands End, but have some hand me downs from my sister’s teen girls, which definitely speaks to longevity!
@gotkimchi: I guess I meant more to looks for styles with a second layer at the knee already as part of the design - like these, but they might be too thick for your DD (they’re SUPER stretchy though):

Hanna Anderson leggings are heavier if you can spend the money, but I find their waist to be a bit too narrow. We really like the Lands End ones too! Gymboree is opening again and they have some of my favorite hand me down worthy options that stand up to wear and tear.

@gotkimchi: I’ve kind of gotten hooked on all the Amazon Essentials girls clothes ! I love Hanna Andersson and have for years, but I have to pay crazy duty and shipping charges on top of the exchange rate to Canada. So now I buy HA for special occasions and Amazon Essentials for every day play. It’s very similar style and quality for a much better price !
