Going on vacation and while I have some "serious" books I'd like to read, I also want a few fun reads. I loved Harry Potter, and I used to read the shopcaholic serious, and Sophie Kinsella's books. I also read all of Dan Brown's books.

Have you read any Marian Keyes books? If you like Sophie Kinsella/Madeline Wickham you'd probably like Keyes!

@snowjewelz: any of Sarah Addison Allen's books! Great fun. light reads with just a hint of magic. But not in the HP sense.

@snowjewelz: Jane Green and Jennifer Wiener are other somewhat similar authors! Those are my go-to light read "chick lit" on vacation authors!

The Fault in our Stars was the best book I have read in a long time (and it was my first YA read, other than the Hunger Games).
If you liked the Dan Brown books, you might like the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series as well (old news, but maybe you haven't read them yet!). A little slow at the beginning, but page turning!

Marian Keyes is my favourite fluffy beach read. Especially some of the older ones, like Rachel's Holiday and Watermelon.

@redsmarties: I agree, some of the older ones were the best! I haven't read her newest one yet. I need to wait for a vacation! Haha.
