after my cat's tummy issues, my boiled wool with leather soled ($$) slippers need replacing. preferably something washable so if my little puker continues to jump out of bed to be sick, i can throw them in the wash (eww, i know).

LL Bean wicked goods are hands down my favorites. I have many different styles and they last forever and are so cozy. Not machine washable though.

Just bought a pair of cheap-o Dearform slippers from Costco - love them!
I think they were like $10. I wasn't willing to spend a ton of $$, but if I was, I'd get those sheepskin slippers they sell in the mall kiosks. I think they're like $60, but they look so warm & cozy.

They're not washable, but we were gifted UGGS slippers last year, and they're the only ones I've ever really loved. Spendy, but amazingly soft and comfy!

@looch: i had those back in the day! they were so comfy, i think they were supposed to be shoes, but i rarely wore them out
@Shutterbug: haha, that's what my mom said, she was like, 'why do you keep leaving your slippers lying around for him?!?' but i take them off when i'm getting in bed, so they're always right next to the bed so i can put them back on when i wake up. i should hide them under the bed, i'm lazy
i wish he'd aim for the hardwoods, he just threw up on my dining room rug, oy.

@mrs. bird: ugh, why do they do that, for the traction?? haha... the other day my dog ran into the living room, took position on the rug and then barfed all over it. Awesome.

@CarrieLouWho: those are hideous, but they look amazing! i think i might need them, they're less than $20 & machine washable, SCORE! have you washed yours? did they stay fluffy? are they slippery? we don't have carpet, so that's my only hesitation, that i'm gonna slip with their pillow goodness on my feet.

@Shutterbug: he should have held on better if he was using it for traction! there were three puddles, but he hasn't thrown up in a few days and he slept through the night last night without getting me up to feed him, not sure which i prefer.... i was up because i thought he was dead- that was the only logical thing i could think of at 2am and i wasn't being attacked by a ravenous cat. i hope your doggie is feeling better!

DH and I both have Birkenstock house shoes. I think it is the Boston model, but they sound like what you had, boiled wool with leather soles. Our whole apartment is hardwood/tile, so they keep the feet nice and warm and are non-slip.

@lamariniere: i have boston birks! mine are suede uppers with cork and rubber bottoms, i looooooove mine! SO thinks i'm a dirty birkenstock wearing hippie who's insane for spending almost $150 on clogs, but i've been wearing birks since high school, they're amazing. i wear mine everywhere

@mrs. bird: they are not cute, but they are like walking on clouds!!! I love them so so much! They have little rubber grippies on the bottom. They wash pretty well, but don't stay quite as fluffy. I get a new pair every year - seriously amazing!!!

@mrs. bird: luckily for us, Birkenstocks are waaaay cheaper in Europe than the US. I think we paid about $50 per pair. Since I work at home, I wear mine constantly as soon as the weather gets cold.
