I'm finally starting to think about baby gear and being sort of a purse person... I'm obviously most excited about a diaper bag first! I want it to be cute, very functional, and no cutesy patterns. I'd rather if it looked like a big stylish purse than a diaper bag. It definitely doesn't need to be gender neutral and I'm less concerned about price on this item.
I've already looked at coach and kate spade and I don't love any of the styles they have out right now.
I'd love some recommendations!

I had a Mia Bossi, that sucker was heavy and impossible to deal with, so I would seriously not recommend it.
It all depends on how you use the bag. I was very happy with my inexpensive Skip Hop Duo.

Have you tried the Coach outlet? I got my diaper bag for under $100 and it still looks brand new two years later!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: I haven't yet. I don't like the styles they have online right now, but I know outlets usually have more variety and some older styles so I will definitely check the next time I'm at the outlets!

I think I'm going to splurge (just a bit) on a Lassig Green Label bag. I'll probably get the messenger style, but there are lots of cute styles on the website -- check out the "Tender" or "Glam" lines.

I don't know how crafty you are, but if you don't find anything you like, you could sew one. I ended up doing that and so far I love it and was able to customize the fabric/pattern to fit my needs.

KS is having a sale right now, but I'm not a huge fan of their current prints either. They have these "surprise" sales pretty regularly though.

I had a Marc Jacobs leather diaper bag when I wasn't pregnant just because it looked like an awesome, big purse. Loved it!!
It was this but in mustard. I got rid of it before having kids and I'm so mad at myself for it! Seriously, way better than my Petunia Pickle Bottom, Burberry, Coach, Timi & Leslie and Kate Spade diaper bags!! But I was also almost $500.
