When I changed my 3 month olds diaper this morning, there was a red spot on the diaper where the tip of his penis was. The diaper was wet, he doesn't have a fever, he isn't cranky/acting strange. Do I need to be worried and take him in right away or wait and see if it happens again?

@Mae: I didn't see any scratches and haven't seen him grab himself recently.
He is uncircumcised/intact if that makes a difference at all.

I would call your Ped to report it and see what advice s/he gives.

LO (also uncircumcised) had this in his first week. The ped explained it was urate crystals (http://www.babycenter.com/404_what-does-it-mean-if-my-baby-has-urate-crystals-in-her-diape_3651268.bc)
Has baby been well hydrated?

@maybebaby: I don't think he's dehydrated. He usually drinks 24-28 oz of breastmilk each day. He had 28-32 oz each of the last 4 days. But is was more of a orangey pinky red like the article describes, not a deep brown red like blood.
Daycare hasn't called to say he's been acting strange, so I think he's ok.

I would call your ped ... Whenever there is blood somewhere where there shouldn't be blood, I'd be concerned. Hopefully it's nothing!!
