Is there any type of food made only in your region? I grew up in GA and can't think of anything that I can eat there and not anywhere else in the south. My husband grew up in Baton Rouge and when I met him he introduced me to all sorts of new stuff. Things like étouffée, beignets, po boys, boudin, crawfish, jambalaya, gumbo, and Cajun spices. I had never had any of it before then. I love Cajun food now! I've learned how make étouffée and am working on perfecting a jambalaya recipe so when tailgate season rolls around we can take a big pot to LSU games.
