I got my coupon for BRU's registry completion today and also looking at doing it for my Amazon one soon too.

I don't think we need too much else, here's my list of what I'm planning to get with our one-time discount.

- Motorola Monitor
- B.O.B. Stroller
- A few cloth diapers to start and try.
- Cloth diaper detergent.
- A couple of books.
- A baby gate.
- Shrinkx Hips
- Bravado Nursing Tanks & Bras (but not sure what size to get?)
- Boppy Travel Pillow
- Thermo Hygrometer
- Breast/Nursing Pads and Spray for down there?

Still Debating On:
- Ubbi Diaper Pail
- Maxi Cosi Convertible Car Seat (DH wants to hold off and hope for a coupon somewhere later?)
- UBV Travel Bag?

Were there ANY THINGS you were really glad you added/purchased from your registry completion? ANYTHING you wished you had thought of or wished you could have bought at the time of registry completion? I'd like to maximize our savings but DH doesn't think we need to buy everything at once.

I'm jealous - I have SO many things left to buy still!

Receiving blankets, swaddling blankets, bottles, thermometer, changing pad covers, breast pump, side-snap shirts, boppy cover, car seat, sound machine, tub, bouncer, swing, activity gym, more diapers... so much.

I guess you've had your shower though, so that must have helped. I hope my shower helps me cross a lot of this off the list!

@Arden: I'm SURE you will get a lot of stuff crossed off that list after your shower! And if all else fails, try as much as possible to return/exchange/get store credits! I spent all week doing that and it will help with getting my additional must-haves! Have you checked with your insurance co. about a breast pump? That's a big one for sure!

I'm jealous too lol. There's so much I have no sign of lol. But shower is next week so hopefully stuff will come soon!

Your list looks good though. You're gonna be super ready for your baby!

I didn't even use my BRU completion discount. I did use the Amazon one tho. I didn't buy too much with it before the baby came. Just some waterproof pads. You could live with out some of those on your list at first. BRU does a lot of 20% off coupons. Would that be a better deal than the registry completion?

We never used our BRU completion since it was only 10% off. I waited to buy some things when we got 20% off coupons in the mail. I would recommend waiting on buying a few things, like the baby gate. They're currently on sale at BRU and would be a better deal than using the completion coupon. I believe strollers are also on sale now - it's the great trade-in event but a lot of items are 15% off even without a trade-in. They also tend to have Medela sales - buy one, get one 40% off - so I would stock up on nursing pads during those sales.

@mrskc: I have thought of that. I don't think they allow the 20% off coupons or any discounts usually on the B.O.B. stroller or Maxi Cosi Car Seats. I'm going to look into the Buy Buy Baby coupon though since you reminded me. We don't have one nearby and I'm not sure if they're 20% off coupon is good for either of those products. It would be GREAT if they did because we won't need either of those 2 things for awhile.

@littlecasita1122: Thanks for those tips! My coupon is for 15%.
I will try to see if I can use a 20% off coupon for the Motorola monitor, but not sure if they accept it and it has to be purchased online. I might use the Amazon one for that because I think it's cheaper.

That's a great point on the baby gate and Medela stuff. I always forget about that huge roll of coupons BRU prints out!

@shopaholic: also forgot to mention my MIL found a great deal at Best Buy on our Motorola monitor. We originally registered for it on Amazon (which was cheaper than BRU) but she was able to find it at Best Buy for less so we took if off. Can't remember if it was a sale price, though, but may be worth researching!

@littlecasita1122: Thanks! That's a great tip for other moms who might be looking for it too! But we have some Amazon gift cards and I returned duplicates and things we didn't need to get merchandise credit from BRU - so I want to use though. It makes me mad though that BRU is the most expensive!

@shopaholic: I don't have much input about the ideal way to maximize your discount but I wanted to suggest that you wait for the car seat. Car seats expire (usually after 6 years) so buying it almost a year before you need it shaves a year off of its useful life. Better to wait until close to when you want to make the switch and watch for other deals.

@shopaholic: The Maxi Cosi is 20% off on Amazon right now through the Amazon mom event. I really wanted that carseat for a while and was super bummed when it went up $40! After the price increase and reading several reviews I decided on the diono radian rxt instead.

Do you have a Buy Buy Baby near you? They accept all competitors coupons + Bed Bath and Beyond coupons. The maxi-cosi car seat is excluded, but I used a "20% off everything" coupon for BBB to buy a lot of stuff off my registry, including my motorola monitor.

@Cole: That's a good point! I wasn't sure how long she'd stay in an infant seat. My BFF seemed to transfer her daughter to the big one pretty quickly, but if it's a whole year, then we'd definitely rather wait.

@LaineysMom: No. *sad face* No Buy Buy Baby near us. I've never been in one, but I think they are opening one a few cities over this winter. I have a coupon though so I will check out their online selection. Thanks!

I wasn't able to get a completion discount on everything I had on my list (Amazon). Some things were excluded or they gave skimpy discounts - one was even more expensive than the current sale price! Because I was only able to buy the things through a link (not sure if it's like that anymore), it would only trigger the list they approved. I was pretty bummed about it!

I think bru will let you couple the completion 10% with a 20% store coupon. I did this with my breast pump and saved a ton.

Just wanted to say that the Amazon coupon isn't good for everything on your registry! We tried to use ours last night but it wasn't good on the main stuff we needed--has to be filled by Amazon, not anyone else. You might already know that, and I wasn't shocked but was a little bummed.

Also I'm pissed at BRU--the girl in store told me I wouldn't get the coupon until our due date, so we went ahead and bought the car seat without it and then I got the completion coupon in the mail!

@tororojo: Yeah, I did know that. So a lot of cute little stuff, I won't be getting right away since they aren't Amazon fulfilled. What BS about BRU! Have you opened it? I would go back to the store, get a refund and use my completion discount on it still, even if I have to argue with the Mgr. about it!

@shopaholic: I reeeeally thought about trying to go back and get 15% off, but I think it would be a huge hassle because we ended up buying the car seat online and picking up in store (it was on sale online). I had gift cards for the whole thing and we saved like $30 from the online sale...but I hate knowing I could have saved another $20 using that coupon! Stupid BRU employees.

@shopaholic: They really are a PITA...if there weren't so many convenient locations, I would absolutely not have registered there. Also, from what I understand, the completion discount is 15% only if there's a Buy Buy Baby nearby, otherwise it's only 10%. Isn't that crappy?

I found the 20% coupons kind of useless because you couldn't buy anything by motorola (our monitor), ergobaby (the carrier we want), and so many other things. There are just so many restrictions, I couldn't save on any of our big ticket items!

With our completion coupon, I'm planning on getting:
- Motorola Monitor
- Second Car Seat Base
- ErgoBaby Carrier
- Safety Gates (x2) - depending on how it works with current sale
- A&A Wraps
- Nursing supplies
- Mattress Protector & Crib Sheets

Although I plan to compare prices with Amazon.com probably just in case I can get items cheaper elsewhere even with the 10% coupon.

@tororojo: Ugh yes! I just went in today to try to see what kind of deal I can get with a gear trade-in (going on right now), registry completion, and price matching. The manager finally OK'd that they would combine the registry completion and a 15% discount for a gear trade in on the B.O.B. stroller I wanted. BUT the in-store price was $450 when the online price was $390! Then they wouldn't price match Amazon $313 with any other discounts. So in the end, they even told me the price match was a better deal without using ANY of THIER discounts. I think it's a bunch of baloney if you ask me that they're in-store price is $60 more than their own online price!

@Adira: Exactly! Everything I wanted to get with the 20% off coupon is excluded: Motorola, Maxi Cosi, BOB, Ergo (though I just need the infant insert), Medela....
P.S. I got my Ergo on BabySteals one day for a pretty good price. Glad I got it there since no one touched it on the registry.

@shopaholic: They often have the Ergo infant insert on nobetterdeal.com as well! I stalk it sometimes, even though we have all of our gear purchased. That sucks about BRU...not surprising, though! Seems like everyone has had issues with them but they have too many convenient locations to keep us from going there!
