Both my grandpas were veterans - one in WW2 and the other in the Korean War. Here's a picture of my mom's dad in Korea (he's in the middle).
Interesting story, I was in Grade 9 Social Studies (history/geography class) and I opened my textbook and found this exact picture! It's a really familiar one to me because my grandpa has a blown up print of it in the den.

Both my grandfathers served and so did my husband and many of our friends, including a few who gave the ultimate sacrifice for all of our freedoms and the freedoms of others

so thankful we now have an all - volunteer military and to those that choose to serve & protect!

I saw this quote awhile ago and absolutely love it. Thinking of those who sacrificed everything for our freedom, and those who continue to serve and fight for our country/freedom.

Today I'm thinking of my grandfather and especially my grandmother who recently passed. She was a WWII widow--her first husband was killed on the beaches of Normandy on Dday. She married my grandfather (WWII vet) after the war.
To all those who sacrifice to serve.
