I took my 3 m.o. and 3 y.o. to Buy Buy Baby today and half way through our shopping trip I had to take my 3 m.o. to change his very big poopy diaper. He was crying hysterically to get changed. Anyway, half way to through the change some frantic mom (like someone who would call 911) knocked on our bathroom door and kept trying to open it repeatedly b/c her daughter was about to pee onto her underwear. She was yelling at me. O.M.G... Seriously?! And then she kept telling me to hurry up repeatedly too. I told her someone was in the restroom twice and then had to tell her that I also have an infant and a toddler with me but she didn't care b/c she continued to knock profusely until I have no idea where she went b/c the noise finally stopped. It was very rude and annoying, actually. I didn't hurry up for her nor purposefully slow down to piss her off. I did what I had to do and then left the restroom. I was also trying not to scare my kids.
She must have JUST started potty training her daughter. I understand where she's coming from b/c I've been there. I get it. But she should have been prepared with extra clothes for accidents b/c accidents do happen. When I first potty trained my oldest he was in pull ups until he stopped wetting them when we went out. That was a sure sign he was ready to wear underwear outside of the house.
How would you have reacted if you were in my situation? My husband said that I should have just ignored her. I guess I kind of felt bad b/c I have kids but I just didn't like that she was yelling at me and telling me to hurry up even after I told her that I have two kids with me in the restroom.
