I've heard for the value both the Lauren and Hensvik cribs are a good and safe buy. I'm not entirely convinced about the Ikea crib.
Has anyone used either and had good or bad experiences? (please share)
If you used the Hensvik do you have to use the Ikea mattress or any crib mattress will do?

I have a different IKEA crib, the Gulliver, and I love it. We put it together and then tried everything we could short of smashing it with a hammer to make sure it was sturdy. Thing is solid! I use a standard crib mattress with it.

We have a graco crib (not the lauren but similar) and we love it! SUPER sturdy. My 3 1/2 year old climbs in there and takes a nap!

We have the Graco Lauren in white. It's great for the money, and it's very sturdy. LO hasn't actually used it yet 
, but we will be sidecarring it to our bed soon!

We have the Graco Lauren in espresso and love it! I think we bought it for about $150 at BRU after using a 20% off coupon. It's sturdy, affordable, very easy to put together, and I really like the design.

I don't have firsthand experience with either, but I have a couple friends who have loved their Ikea cribs. HOWEVER! You'll want to check your local Ikea's stock online before heading to a store, as they're currently running through the last of their stock in anticipation of releasing a bunch of new crib styles, according to an Ikea customer service person I spoke with recently. (Long story short, I spent longer than is reasonable fretting over when they'd have cribs in stock...the short answer is that no one really knows.)

We have a Graco Lauren and I agree that it's very sturdy and very easy to put together. We bought it for $150 with the matching changing station on Black Friday two years ago on BRU online.
However, a small piece of paint chipped off one of the slabs that faces inwards, I think it happened a few months after LO was born. Luckily it's covered by the breathable bumpers so he doesn't notice it. Another slab is stained a yellow-ish color (our crib is white), like it needs a second coat of paint.

I have two of the Graco Laurens for my twins. I needed something affordable since I had to get two. We love them, super sturdy, great price and looks nice too. I got ours for $135 each from Walmart.com.

We have the Hensvik and it's definitely a nice crib. We're still cosleeping, but it was easy to set up, seems sturdy, and was a fine fit with our mattress, and PB bedding/skirt. Great addition to our nursery, at an awesome price.
