We mak kongnamul bap in ours! It's rice with bean sprouts and ground beef or pork.

Basically I layer the rice/water, meat, and bean sprouts and hit cook. It's possible to put the meat in raw, but I found that it would turn out slightly pink so I like to cook it a little first! Which also helps it separate. Honestly the most time consuming part for me is the sauce, which isn't at all!

@locavore_mama: make chicken and shittake mushrooms with mine. But the chicken and shiitake require some prep work before being added to the rice and oyster sauce in the rice cooker.

@locavore_mama: YEA!! I use chicken breasts since I always have those on hand. I cut it up into bite size pieces and marinate it with sugar and soy sauce overnight. I soak the shiitake mushroom to rehydrate and cut them up.

For rice, I cook it with rice and oyster sauce. Then I quickly sear/cook the chicken and mushrooms then add them to the rice pot once it's done cooking and mix well. I let it sit together for awhile so the flavors meld. I serve it with chopped peanuts. And it's great as leftovers. the chicken is super moist and juicy. not dry!
