My cheapie rice cooker finally stopped working. Looking to invest into a nicer (under $100 would be nice!) rice cooker that ideally had a brown rice option and (not sure if its an option) that makes porridge (jook) too... And go!

It does porridge and I've cook a brown/jasmine rice mix under white rice all the time. So you might be able to do brown under the mixed setting.

Zojirushi. We LOVE ours. It is a staple for us because we like to do stir fry often, and there is nothing quite like well-cooked wild rice. We got ours as a warehouse deal on Amazon (fuzzy logic, brown rice and porridge options) for under $100. I did end up getting the five cup instead of the larger one, but it really does make enough unless we were to have an insane amount of company, and then I could just make two batches if I needed to.

Zojirushi! I replaced a rice cooker I got at Walmart for $8.88 in 2002 with it. It's great.

Another vote for Zojirushi! We were gifted a three cup a few years ago and plan on upgrading soon. It might run you over $100 but totally worth it.
