Yes yes yes! Keep in mind that its a robot and it may not do an amazing job but it keeps the floors really tidy. I try and hand vacuum the baseboards once a week because dirt and hair still accumulates along the walls.

I have a similar one called a Neato and it is absolutely worth it for us. The main difference between the Roomba and Neato is the laser assist on the Neato and the room barriers that the Roomba requires.

@rahlyrah: I've wanted one of these since seeing it on Breaking Bad!
We actually ordered something similar from NBD a few days ago. It's called a bObsweep and is a robotic vacuum and mop. On the bObsweep website it's $599 but it was $149 on NBD! They had a couple left when I ordered mine. They also have 10% off through tomorrow, so we got it for $139 including shipping. I am so excited about it!

@lawbee11: I'll look into that one, too! Thanks!
@Ash: Why don't you like it?
@blackbird: Awesome visual!

@rahlyrah: I didn't feel like it did anything... and it always got stuck so it would never finish.

We have one! It definitely keeps the floors cleaner, since we can schedule it to run every day or every other day. It is sort of loud though and you still have to empty the bins and clean out the brushes everyday.

Does anyone feel like their Roomba damages the furniture? I have one but never use it because I'm afraid of it bumping into wood furniture aggressively.

@spaniellove: no, it senses furniture and slows down to not hit it too hard.

@spaniellove: the Neato has a laser light that senses furniture so it generally won't bump into things. It occasionally gets confused so I won't say it won't 100% bump into things but it is pretty good about not running into my baseboards and furniture.

Nope, not worth it! If I got it for like....less than $200 then my answer would be different.
It gets stuck, takes forever, very loud (I have to lock myself in my bedroom to answer the phone so imagine a sleeping baby), it gets stuck in shaggy rugs and rug strings and it has all these programmable features that I can't for the life of me figure out.
Also: you have to unplug and put up any cords (phone chargers, tv cords, lamp cords...) or else it'll suck then up and you'll spend 30 mins untangling them.
Anyways---it helps? But I got mine for $500 plus 20% off From Bb&b and it's not worth it.
I rec the shark vacuum for carpet plus hardwood & the shark duo for mopping tile, hardwood and scrubbing carpet. Those two will be about the price of one roomba and can do 15x the cool things:)

My SIL and her husband had one and it broke in 4 months. The parts and to get it repaired was more expensive than what it was to begin with.
