I'm trying to stick to our aggressive budget and so I'm trying to use remaining frozen meat that has been given to us by our parents who raise animals.
I ran across a rump roast. Does anyone know a good rump roast recipe?

@Mrs. Jacks: You can put it in your slow cooker with two cans of beef broth, two cups of water, and two packages of french onion soup mix. Let it cook on low for 6-8 hours and then shred the meat and make french dip sandwiches with toasted buns and provolone cheese. Always a big hit at my house.

We do a big can of cream of mushroom soup, a packet of French onion soup, a bag of small carrots, some potatoes (chunked in 1/4's). Low all day.

I put it in the crockpot with some beef stock and then after 8 hours I shred it and add BBQ sauce - serve with coleslaw - YUM!

This is going to sound crazy, but I don't have a slow cooker!

@Mrs. Jacks: do you have a Dutch oven? You can slow cook on stove top or in oven on low!

@Mrs. Jacks: I don't have a good recipe aren't they the best? Mine is from target but I've used it so much I totally want to upgrade to the real deal Le creuset!

@junebugsmama: I got the Le Creuset for our wedding. We love it!

We didn’t have a crockpot for the longest time – we were gifted one at our wedding and didn’t even try it for like 3 years, but they are handy to have around, especially with 2 WOH parents!
In addition to the recipes above, some ideas:
You can make beef carnitas tacos with rump roast. Cook on low for hours and shred, and then fill warn corn or flour tortillas with beef, onions, cilantro, avocado.
What about hacking it up for various soups and stews? What else do you have in your pantry/fridge/freezer
Roast it in the oven and then slice thin for piled-high roast beef sandwiches.

@yoursilverlining: soup or stew sounds great right now since it's snowing like crazy! I've got carrots, onions, potatoes, broth, rice or noodles. I also have cilantro and avocados.

@Mrs. Jacks: Hmmmm, what about a beef noodle soup – either Asian-inspired (with cilantro, maybe some soy and/or sriracha) or more like chicken-noodle but with beef? Beef/barley (use rice in place of barley)? Though with onion, carrots and potatoes, you could do easily just do like a pot roast. You could also slice the beef and grill it up and serve over a salad with the cilantro and avocado.
