I've noticed a lot of posts about babies getting sick frequently when they enter daycare. I'm currently a SAHM and my LO (10 months) has only really gotten sick once (knock on wood!). I'm wondering if this means she will just get sick ALOT when she starts preschool?

I think that could happen if you really shelter your LO from public spaces and are really germophobic at home.
Our LOs are 5 months, I stay home, and they have had 1 cold recently. Hubby probably brought it home from work, but we take them out a LOT, so I think they are exposed to plenty of germs that way. So I don't expect them to get sick more than average when they start preschool.

I'm a SAHM too and my LO has been sick twice (she is 13.5 months). Both times she got sick she had been in contact with other kids who were sick.

I'm a SAHM and my LO is 20 months. Last year he got a cold once or twice. This year it has been back to back colds and coughs for the past few months. He plays with other kids and we go to a lot of public places. So, I hope he will be fine when he enters school since I think he's been sick enough lol.

Lo is 17 months and has only had one cold. I take her to the library a lot, and we'll start gymboree soon so she'll be around kids there too. I'm hoping that by the time she's in preschool her immune system will be better because she'll be older. I think babies in daycare have so much trouble because they're so little their immune system hasn't had time to develop yet.

I didn't go to daycare and hardly ever got sick growing up. Never missed a day of school until I got the chicken pox.
Hoping my LOs are just as healthy. -
My husband and I, and my daughter to a lesser extent, have been near constantly sick this winter! Every since she started getting really mobile and playing with other children more at the museum, playdates, etc. It's a nasty winter for illness. One of us is sick every week.

I take LO out a lot and he was sick a few times during his first year but nothing major, mostly the first time playing with new kids and when we travel. This year he's been getting little colds more frequently and I think it's because a) I'm not breastfeeding anymore and b) he's been teething= so sucking thumb after touching stuff outside.

I'm a SAHM, and LO is just getting over her first real cold at 7 months. I'm pretty sure she got it from the church nursery, and it will be more common as she gets older. I don't plan on sheltering her to keep her from getting sick.
