Do you think they are comfortable?
I bought some after reading the summer shoe thread and they are awful - I feel like I am walking on cardboard - do they need to break in or something? I always hear rave reviews for these so I am really disappointed =(

@Mamaof2: Hmmm...I love mine. I find them really comfortable. But I think I read something about getting them wet to break them in. That might help.

They don't have arch support so if you're looking for that you won't like them. I found they took very little breaking in and the straps didn't rub like other sandals. I don't like wearing them on days I do a lot of walking I prefer my birks for that.

I love mine but I agree there's not much to them and not a lot of support. I like a minimal shoe (vans etc), so it might be an individual preference thing. I don't remember having to do much to break them in and they don't rub my feet at all, but I recall seeing something about getting them wet as PP mentioned, not sure if I did that though, mine are a few years old.

@looch: the straps are great - soft - don't bother me at all- its the foot bed that is awful
@Pancakes: @Banana330: @Revel: yeah zero support - although flip flops don't have support either but they are soft on my feet.
I'm wearing them around the house for a few days to see if I warm to them , if not I'll return

@Banana330: @Revel: agree about the footbed being minimal. I have 2 pairs and like them and have even worn them for extensive walking (like 8-10 mikes). But if you are looking for a truly comfortable sandal, these are not going to do it.

I haven't had any problems with mine. I can walk around in them all day. If you do decide to keep them you could get them wet and see how that helps. They are meant to be water shoes.

I have had a few pairs and found they are hit or miss. I've ordered the tan ones and the black ones.
The tan ones I've gotten are UBER COMFY. I wore them everyday for 2 seasons and then I lost them and was so sad about it. But I loved them so much, I amazoned myself new ones the next day and they were just as comfy as the first pair.
Since I loved the tan ones so much, I decided to order black ones. They were HORRIBLE. So stiff and uncomfortable and gave me cuts and blisters within 5 mins of putting them on. So I sent them back and ordered another pair of black ones thinking maybe I just got a bad pair from a bad batch. Nope, the 2nd pair of black ones were awful as well. So I returned those too and I just wear my tan ones all day everyday.
So the moral of my story is: it's hit or miss. Maybe they aren't consistent depending on the batch? Or the retailer? But when you get a good pair. THEY RULE.

I have two pairs, and they are my favorite sandals!! They are super comfortable, but I followed the directions and put them to soak in water for a while. I can't remember how long they said to do it for. I walk all over in them. I suggest you break them in with water! They get much more pliable.

Mine are the most comfortable shoes I own right now at 30w pregnant...but even non-pregnant me could walk forever in them. But I agree there's not much support! I did get mine a little bit wet at the beach and the leather has just done its thing around my foot. But reading the other comments maybe it is a colour/batch thing. Hope it resolves itself for you!

@anniefannie: @Mamaof2: Mine are tan! I would never have guessed that the different colors might be different quality/fit. I'm eyeing a pair of rose gold ones for this summer. I hope they don't disappoint!

The footbed is quite minimal but I wonder if maybe mine are so comfy because I routinely wear mine to play with the kids in splash parks? They are definitely well moulded to my feet now!

I'm also a fan - I have them in gold and in purple. I followed the directions of getting them wet, walked allllll around in them, and routinely wore them in the splash pad with my kids. As others have said, they're not supportive, but I wore them as a city mama, pushing two kids all over Brooklyn in a double stroller, even while super pregnant, and they worked for me! The only annoying thing is they buckle around the ankle, but I kept mine loose enough to slide on and off without unbuckling (we take shoes off in the house).

Really interesting about the difference in comfort by color! I have gold saltwaters and I get a gold pair for lo every year to match. I find them incredibly comfortable. I didn't require getting them wet or really any breaking in. I have medium wide feet and dont require arch support. Style wise, they're a little wide/casual looking for me, but I've grown to love them for every day running around or when im going to be walking a lot - cuter and much more comfortable than flip flops and I love to match my mini.
