I really detest the playground closest to our house because it's all sand. Do you hightop sneakers work well for keeping sand out of LOs shoes?

My LO wears tall (almost knee-high) boots into the sandbox and still comes out with sand inside of them. I don't think there is any way to avoid sand, except going shoeless or with open sandals.

I loathe the sand. I've tried everything and truly, nothing works. Boots seem like a good idea, but the sand still gets in and then you usually dump it all over your house when you take their shoes off. The best method I found is wearing rainboots under waterproof playpants with elasticated ankles and stirrups (all the kids wear playpants to the parks here), and that keeps the sand out. Otherwise, you either have to just go with sandals or barefoot and then hope there is a fountain for cleaning their feet afterwards.

best is just socks. because barefoot is just weird. then you can just take off her socks and dust her feet with baby powder to get off the sand. I hate sandy playgrounds too. WHY! WHY!
