I take pictures and then toss them too but if it's super awesome I think I would save some. She's only 2 so it's mostly scribbled lines right now, LOL. I've saved some stuff we made in the mommy and me art class more for my memory. She won't remember that we worked on it together. I would explain to your DD that you already took a picture of it, hope that works!

We talk about the throwing away. Something like "oh I loved having that one on the fridge to look at. I really liked the blue dots. Now it's going to the recycling because it's time for a new picture to have a turn on the fridge. Thanks for making me all this art!" No guilt, we are doing them a favor by just keeping some, not endless boxes they will have to deal with someday!

I keep things like art they make out of handprints or footprints - these seem more special to me than just the scribbles. I also keep "milestone" ones, like the first picture of a person DD1 drew (she hadn't drawn anything that actually represented anything before that). I got a cute scrapbook box for each kid and keep these in there. At 4yrs old, DD1's box is only about half full, so it hasn't piled up too much yet.

@Mrs Panda: care to share? Right now they're all thrown in a cardboard box!

@regberadaisy: I'm sure we will need more of these eventually, but they're easy to stack in a closet or even cute to put on a book shelf. Got this one at Target but also have some I got at Hobby Lobby

@Mrs Panda: which aisle do you find them at Target? I'm assuming scrap booking at Hobby Lobby? Will check for something similar next time I'm at Michaels too! TY!

I keep every picture! I have files and files in the garage. I'm a huge softie though!!!

I tend to keep them all. I do toss the ones she mainly scribbles on, but any piece she's taken time on, I keep. I figure it'll come in handy for grandparent's birthdays or the holidays. With a decorative punch, they make EXCELLENT gift-wrapping decor
