I can't watch videos like that- I have scary images in my head already when I drive with her! Can you summarize?

@Foodnerd81: This couples 6 month old got out of her chest clip and they found that all they had to do was wiggle it around for it to come undone. They emailed BabyTrend, who blew them off, so they posted it as an FYI to warn other parents. Nothing bad happened.

That's so scary! Some friends of mine have their newborn in the exact carseat shown in the video. I will have to show them.

We had this carseat, it was the only one besides the Maxi Cosi that would fit in my Yaris and the Maxi Cosi wasn't in stock to try out, so we went with the Baby Trend.
That is scary!
My DS is very active, very physical kid and I do worry about his safety in the Britax we have now because he does know how to push the chest clip all the way down to his belly. He hasn't figured out how to open it, yet.
A friend just told me this weekend that chest clips are illegal in the UK, I had no idea.

@rachiecakes: Yes they are, but I HATE our UK seat with no chest clip. C slips her arms right out no matter how tight we have the straps. I went to get her out yesterday and she had an arm out. We're ordering a new carseat tomorrow! lol

@loveisstrange: DS would be the same way! He tries to wiggle out of everything, carseat, shopping cart, stroller..

When we ordered our Swedish Britax, we also got a separate chest clip that we could thread through the straps, but it was more of a pain than anything else.
I think the reason why they're illegal in Europe is that a rescuer has to be able to undo the mechanism for the straps with one hand, but I could be wrong on that.

@rachiecakes: I believe Britax offers a kit for their chest clips to make them harder to open, I tried googling it though without any luck. If you are worried about it though maybe try giving them a call.
