I'm a very amateur scrapbooker and have been working on LO's scrapbook over the past month or so. I haven't gotten very far since I'm running out of ideas for creative ways to put the pages together. I don't have a ton of supplies either so it's making the project a bit tougher than anticipated.
Is anyone else into scrapbooking, and have any good ideas you're willing to share?

I like to use idea books to help me along if I'm working on a 12x12 scrapbook. If I'm doing an 8x8, I do it myself and just cut the paper the same size, but put it in different areas of the page for each layout.

My goal is to finish our wedding album before our lo arrives. I have one full day of scrapbooking in February but I think I need a crop or two to make sure I get this all done!

I am SOoo behind on my scrapbooking its not even funny! I usually just get ideas online. Slowly but surely your scrabooking supplies will grow. Layering always adds a good touch and another I like to do is tearing paper to certain shapes or to back a pic and what not. If that makes sense!

OH and the other thing - I buy packs of coordinating design paper and cardstock to make things easier. I usually buy Close To My Heart stuff just because I love their quality and what you get for the money. I have too much stuff... lol

i no longer have time to scrapbook traditionally, I have joined the world of digital scrapbooking and then just upload them to shutterfly and order a 12x12 book. If you interested in layouts for digital scrapbooking I'll be glad to share.
I'm an avid fan close to my heart and stampin up. Going to stamping websites such as hero arts or blog rings you will see what other people are doing and can get inspirations from there. I second the Cherish Layout Book, its great!

What kind of supplies do you have to work with? I like using fabric to add some texture?

I don't scrapbook. I like making photobooks on shutterfly.

I've also turned to Shutterfly. I just don't have time for traditional scrapbooking, plus it gets really expensive. If you don't want to buy all sorts of stickers and things maybe you can print things out that you find online.

I also make books online. I use My Publisher. I'm getting ready to order my 2011 yearbook.

I have a ton of paper and lots of scissors and stickers. That's about it as I never invested much in stamps or other embellishments. I love the online idea but then what do you do with all the tangible things, like her hospital bracelet or her first welcome home card? I figured its nice to have them all accounted for in one spot with the pictures to go with it.

@sunshine44: have you looked into any scrapbooking groups in your area? That's how I learned. I joined a meetup group and learned tips from the women I cropped with. It's also great for meeting new friends!

@mediagirl: I haven't looked for any groups in my area. To be honest, i dont even know if I'd have the time. I wish I did because I do find scrapbooking so relaxing. So i'm hoping I can just find inspiration online.

I love to scrapbook! I am SO behind though! I need to finish our wedding books (1.5 years later...shh!), my pregnancy & DD of course!
I like using tools like the crop-a-dile & Corner Chop to add special touches to the pages. I also organize all of my stickers & embellishments in an accordion file. I like to add ribbon, pieces of fabric & keepsakes to give them depth.
