we have this seahorse..I've changed the batteries a million times (money sucker!) and it's never happened, so meh. haha. I do agree they should actually do a recall though.
to be clear in case anyone doesn't click over - it's not recalled (but perhaps should be).

DD and DS both have one and we've never had any problems,j use them every night and naps on weekend. My mom also has one but it gets so little use it probably still has the original batteries.
