DS is 15 months and has bad eczema, especially splotchy on his cute face. At the pedi's on Monday he was diagnosed with seasonal allergies. The doctor suggested giving him Zyrtec before bed. DH asked if it's okay to give it to DS every night, and I realized I don't know. Does anyone else give their LOs allergy medicine regularly? I'll call the pedi tomorrow but just wanted to check on HB.

DS gets Zyrtec every morning. He's 18 months and we've been doing this for a couple of months. I figure he needs maintenance allergy meds like his mom!

Yes; LO (22 months) gets a half of children's Claritin every day.
I have really bad allergies and LO was really rubbing her eyes and said they itched/hurt and was sneezing a lot.

15 months and he gets Claritin every day. Poor guy has my awful allergies. I feel so bad for him. I take shots to manage mine and will be glad when he can too.

The pedi's note said, "give 2ml at bedtime," but DH wasn't sure if that meant EVERY night. DS's face is often red, he has itchy eyes and skin, so I'm on board with anything that helps!

@yoursilverlining: @coacheswife123: I'm sorry your LOs have seasonal allergies, too. It's comforting, though, to hear that it's not that uncommon. I guess I'm lucky, I don't experience allergies, so it's new to me.

Yes, we've been taking Zyrtec far too long. It doesn't seem effective so we just switched to Claritin about a week ago to see if it provides more relief.
