Silly name question. I want to see other perspectives. I've always loved the name "January" for a girl, and "August" for a boy. Autumn & Winter aren't on my list, but are along the same lines. Do you think it matters that the baby isn't born during this month/season - or, if the baby is born during this time, does that make it worse?

I know a Summer born in November. I liked the name April when I was younger, but I wouldn't use it if my baby was born in that month or use a seasonal name if they were born in that season!

I know someone who named her son August and was born that month. I also know an Autumn born in May. Day of the week names are cute, and they move around each year so it isn't a big deal if you don't like it super matchy.

I like season and month names - don't think it matters when they are born to be given the name. Autumn was on a short list no matter what but we ended up with 2 boys.

I liked the name August a lot. My son was born in August so my husband thought it would be weird, I thought it didn't make a difference. We ended up naming him something else, but I think seasonal/month names work any time of year!

My LO has a month name and he was not born in that month. We decided on the name long before we conceived, but I am not sure we would have changed it if his name month was his birth month.
I really like seasonal/ month names.

I think it's better if they weren't born in the month/season - if they are it feels a bit too cutesy, if they're not it's just a cute name that you liked.

I do like some of these names, June and Summer in particular but I don't think I'd ever use them because I wouldn't know if they should or shouldn't be used to match the birthday. Growing up I knew an April, born in September and I thought it was so weird! (Perspective as a kid - I don't think it's weird now)

August was on our short list for DS2 (and he was born in July). We just liked the name and it didn't matter when his birthday month/season was.

My sister has a hyphenated month name. She was named after her grandmother (ex-stepfather's mother) who died before she was born. She was due in a different month but was a preemie so ended up coming in her name month. It's a tad awkward but with the story, fits.

I think there are some names that are lovely and kind of transcend the seasonal/month affiliation, like I love June and Mae

Funny enough, August was on our boy name list, but with an August due date, we nixed the idea almost immediately.
I didn't think it would bother me (I saw this question when it was asked), but it turns out I don't like the name-the-same-as-the-month thing.
