Do you think you will have a baby shower for your second child? My friend loved planning my first one and says she wants to throw us a "sprinkle" whenever we have Baby 2. I don't think I want one since we have a lot of gear, neutral clothing and I want to be Team Green! We also have cloth diapers and we don't need any disposables!

No, but I didn't want one the first time either. For the second time, I don't think I will need much besides the new baby's furniture and room decor.

I am throwing an open house/meet the baby party for a friend of mine for #2. She is team green so it works out well to do it afterwards so we will know if its a boy or girl.

I don't plan on having one for baby #2, I have gotten mostly neutral items for this one, besides clothes and bedding and that can all be easily replaced if we end up with a boy next round.

Nope because I don't think anyone would throw me one. But I would love to throw a Sip N See for #2 after s/he is born!

I think I am in the minority when I say that I really want some sort of celebration with my second! I'm so excited because even though I didn't request it, and I didn't think anyone would throw me one, I found out that my friend is throwing me a small get together this weekend. There's not TOO much that we need, but since it's a girl this time, it would be nice to celebrate that and do all things girly.
Most of the things we need are not that exciting as gifts (more crib sheets, second camera for the baby monitor, seat that turns our stroller into a double stroller, another humidifier, etc) so I'm not really in it for the gifts... just an excuse to get together with my friends!

My MIL is having one for me. In Mexico they think it's craaaaazy that gringos only have a shower for the first baby! We really don't need anything but it will be fun to celebrate and do all the silly shower stuff again.

Showers for second children are not the norm among my friends and family so I wouldn't expect anyone to offer and I would probably feel uncomfortable if they did. If someone absolutely insisted I definitely wouldn't have a registry for the second.

I didn't want one but my bestie insisted on throwing me one. So we're having our closest friends over for lunch (will just be the 7 of us) and will just hang out and have fun. I didn't register and certainly don't expect people to bring gifts. If they do, I'm sure it will be clothes, which would be great because we're having a girl this time and girl clothes are so fun to look at!

2nd showers aren't the norm amongst my family and friends and if you have one....there are definitely whispers!!!

@sarbear: just a "casual" gathering after baby is born. You provide light drinks & refreshments (or a full meal if you want) hence the Sip so that they can meet the baby hence the See! 
And oh they are usually thrown by the parents. Which is why I think it would work great for #2! I wanted to host a Sip N See/housewarming for LO but we're not in our new house yet.

I probably wouldn't (I don't like showers to begin with, though I do like giving gifts for babies - I do that whether there is a shower or not), but I might have people over for a barbecue to celebrate.

I won't, it's a no no in my culture. But I think it's fine for those who do have one. There's always something that you'll need.

I think we'll be more likely to have some kind of open house after the baby is actually born. Since we'll likely have most of what we need from our first I think I would want the focus to be more on meeting the baby and welcoming him/her to the family.
