@Foodnerd81: I love the name Grace, and feel like it is classic popular and not trendy popular. I say this as an Ashley born in 1984, so obviously I am much authority on the matter!

I don't have second thoughts about it, but I know what you mean about the name popularity thing. My all-time favorite name was Ava, and DH vetoed it for being too popular. Then I wanted Evelyn, but that name was moving up the ranks quickly, so DH vetoed that too. We settled on LO's name, which was >100 on the SS list when she was born. And of course now she is one of two with the same name in her toddler class, with no Avas or Evelyns in sight (in fact, we don't know a single one). That sort of bugs me a little but I love her name and it suits her.

Btw, Grace is a gorgeous name. It feels very classic to me.

I basically wish the name that we chose, which fits her perfectly, was one that other people would stop using. It's far more popular than I'd like, which we knew going in (though it's going down, not up, last I checked), but it was just the right name, so I can't regret it.

I'll be honest though, I do regret not sticking to my plan last time to not commit to a name until the baby was born. I LOVE our first choice of names, but because we gave it to a baby that didn't survive, we never get to use it outside of some really depressing conversations. But it seems like it wouldn't fit this LO anyway, I guess.
