One of my friends just shared this on FB and I thought it was pretty great. I had read the thread about the blog entry from a mother to the teenage girl friends of her sons (which I can see both sides of, so I never commented but thought it was really interesting) and thought I'd post this one, too:

I like that a lot more than the other one. the other one has some valid points in there I think, but this one is just one big valid point

That was really nice, I appreciate that the father knows even now that it is an important conversation to have. I was thrown for a bit of a loop with the other post by the mom, I understood the idea behind what she said but this man took (in my opinion) a better approach.

I thought the mom from the other post/article had a good point about young women not objectifying *themselves*, but I could definitely also see the other side, too -- teach your sons to be able to see women as people even if they find them attractive. Which is why I thought this was pretty cool

I didn't read the other post but this is a big foundation of our home, marriage, & what both DH & I expect from G (and the rest of our kids) as he/they grow(s). We are all in control of ourselves & someone else being "out of control" or whatever they choose to be doesn't change that.
