Do you have friends on facebook who compliment themselves on their own pictures? I have a few that do this, and it makes me cringe a bit

Oh and honestly, I think when they post up pictures of themselves (where it's just him/her..not a group photo), I consider that a self compliment. They're just begging for people to say something nice.

I totally agree. I never post solo pics! Unless they are vacation shots of me standing on front of lame monuments that seem importantly at the time!

Yes!
Even worse, I had a coworker who decorated her ENTIRE cubicle with solo-pictures of herself. She was also her own screensaver on her phone and her computer!

Not going to lie ... I have at least one or two selfies on FB and Instagram... heck I am proud of myself when I look decent which isnt often these past months of sleepless nights!
ooops :-(.
none at my cubicle at work though, I promise.

@JustlikeHeaven: I have one too, I got an awesome wonder woman t-shirt and I felt really good. I don't care if people comment on it, I was just happy to have felt so good in a photo....

@Mrsbells: I assume you put up pics of yourself when you got married right? Isn't that the same thing?
I also put up weekly solo pics of pregnancy.

I don't think I've ever seen people compliment their own photos on Facebook. That's weird!!
My one and only solo photo I ever posted to Facebook was a bump photo we posted at 36 weeks and polled our friends and family to see if they think it's a boy or a girl!

I'm okay with some self portraits, especially if they're in a fun place/doing something interesting/bump or bridal pics. I think it's weird to talk about how good you look, though--I had a friend in college who always complimented herself out loud and I thought it was weird and obnoxious (also, she was pretty normal looking).

I have a friend and cousin who do self photos (where they are taking photos of themselves with their camera) in sexy poses. Ugh, that is just as bad as complimenting oneself!

I haven't seen many self-compliments, but it does annoy me when people post "I'm soooo fat!!" Or "ugh, bad hair day!" With or without a picture! Clearly they're looking for a, "no, you look great!"

Haven't seen this so much but I don't see what the big deal is with solo pics!!
I posted a picture of myself at my SILs wedding a month ago because I had lost all the baby weight, wore a fabulous dress and felt AMAZING. I said, "I feel so confident and beautiful!" and I think it's important to feel good about yourself!
It sounds like society talking when you say that women can't post pictures of themselves because it's "vain", but really all women should see themselves as beautiful and be confident in who they are!!
I would never let anyone tell me that I can't feel good about myself.

Totally just posted a selfie of my new glasses! Haha
I try to minimize the number of solo snaps I post, but will post for new haircuts, etc.

I see a lot of pictures with the caption "Looking cute" or something along those lines!
I will sometimes post pictures of myself but rarely

@Coco Bee: awesome!
Obviously there's a big difference between being confident/compliementing yourself and being cocky/bragging.
I was just reading a book about style/beauty and one of things it said to do was to compliment yourself on something daily. Especially after having a baby, I think this is so important. There are so many things I could pick on - my non-existant abs, my saggy boobs, the circles under my eyes, my awful skin - but finding something that makes me feel pretty and telling myself that daily is something I can do. And sometimes I might just take a picture of it, too

I know some people who have ALBUMS of themselves titled .. "ME" on facebook, and its the same shot in almost all of the pictures.
"me driving" "Me getting ready for work." "me going to work." "me at work."
